Doing your own maintenance saves on the coin. Just did my pick up truck.. 10k will be transmission service time. Changed plugs, belts (3) coils, and wires 5k ago. Gooooowd stuff Brother Dave. Stay safe and be well.
Yo any advice on getting that rear wheel out, 100% appreciated, I gotta swap a rear brake rotor to my new one that was color match painted(theme build) and Im all ears for tips.
@@NorCal-refrigeration I've seen a lot of people need to remove the caliper and axle alignment bolts. I was wondering if there's a way to get that tire out without touching any of that. I guess i just need to deal with removing that upper slip-on on my bike then eh? Did you have to turn out the alignment screws to get the rear wheel off the belt?
@@NorCal-refrigeration yeah, I seen it happen once, belt snapped and instead of just flinging out it somehow grabbed and the back wheel instant locked.
That knarly seem has been on every tire I've put on my low rider s and every one else's we all need to know why because this is on all of the fxlrs and also the fxlrst.
I seen Hack and Moe at the supply house the other day they bought the entire stock of Leak Seal ! They're so busy they said its just easier to throw that in , No time to find the leaks just squirt n go . They also said real men ride Kawi's dont know what that was about ???
Got a 22 LRS and after a loudy 3,500 miles my front scorcher is at 2/12 and the rear 4/12, oem tires blow! Also I ride like a grandma compared to your average LRS rider, never done a burnout to any vehicle.
@@NorCal-refrigeration Funny thing is I talked to my harley dealer about the tires and they stayed convinced that the OEM tires are the best option, and it was my riding style that wore the tires out to fast...like whatever fucker.
@@93ORyan I could only find a metzler 888 for front and the Dunlop rear they are lasting way longer. I’m at 12k on these already and both holding up. 32k on bike now.

Good video ! Whats with All the Metric on the Hog ! its like my dodge truck. 1/2 American sizes & Half Metric. pisses me off to no end ! You had loads of pad left on those brakes. Radial tire is Probably going to ride alot smoother. Very nice ! Dunlop been making tires forever! i think they make good tires 🛞!

Had a bike in the 80s was a lot of fun! Wish I had it now!
Very cool Dave something totally different 👍👍👍
🤘⚡️🤘✨✨
When you replaced the rear tire did you had to just tighten the bolt nothing more right?
Nice job nice looking tire - looks like a superbike tread! I never could afford Dunlop back in the day but I did like my Michelin pilot
sweet some one who owns a torque wrench so they can do it right. Im not sure about retorqueing those bolts. Wouldn't it break the Loctite?
Does it matter what way the spacer grove is ?
Nice bike Dave! My Ultra-Classic is about ready for some maintenance as well.......

@@FranBunnyFFXII easy jack bike up enough to get the pressure off the wheel and the axle will slide out. No need to bang on it.

Well what’s the specs on the axel nut and the belt
How long do the drive belts last?
Good Question.
Long time
until they suddenly break and possibly send you for a slide-out or a nasty high-side after doing a sudden 90 🤣

The scorcher is such a low mileage tire. The metzler 888. Last twice as long. So do the Dunlop American elites and commander 3’s.
Facts!! i got 4,850 miles on my ST and my front and rear both have that line on the same side.

Jack the bike up. Get something high enough to help hold rim/tire at axel level. ( box under tire ) this will help line it all up
