I've played this game on and off for months now, never completed it, then I copied your build and I'm in the hardest difficulty and that took 2 days, most effective build for beating the game by far! Props

Lol I felt that way with WotW on nioh 1 and I never finished the 3rd DLC from it Going into Nioh 2 I almost gave up too, but never did health regen build, or life steal on amrita gain... its a fucking life changer especially with the extraction talisman, from there: high ki dmg and keeping up on armor/ weapon level stats helps a ton It can be a big mistake to just keep playing with the same armor and forget to soul match or feel comfortable with switching gear when you out grow an old set (because new graces or rarities)
@@Nirroir This game is meant to be hard & frustrating at first. But once you get the hang of it & truly understand the mechanics of the game. It will feel like your playing on easy mode.
finally an early game thing you are some of the small group that i follow for nioh 2/nioh... if i get to late game i will require the late game build but i am strugling how to survive in nioh 2.... that damn frozen odachi-boss i couldnt kill him.
Come to think of it, I feel that the Sohaya (the medium armor variant, not the light armor) set is kinda underrated for beginners (pre NG+) since there's so few people recommending it. It can provide quite good sustainability espescially for those who wanted to use weapons like Dualswords, Switchglaive, Katana, Kusarigama, etc since you don't have to invest that much of stamina points. A solid alternative to Yoriki sets, which is a heavy armor.
finally, a guide that doesn't require a small loan of million dollars. update: I playthrough NG with over 80% equipment weight, needs about 72 stamina to use Obsidian set with 69.9%, but the basic idea works well, overweight or not ....

Hey @Spooky Pizza . I'm doing good with the build. Life leech is so good with Tombokiri but I have some questions. 1. Why not equip my Obsidian set at lvl 70 instead of 160? I got a full set but I dont have the Yasakani Magatama. 2. Yatsu-no-kami got nerfed to 8 anima cost. What can I do to increase my anima recovery? Is there a way to make this build spam it again? I can't deal with packs of monsters because 8 anima is too much. I'm getting 5 anima really fast tho.
All of the good soul cores I've seen have been 7-8 charge, once i got kasha i dropped yatsu no kami and haven't looked back, kasha cost 7 but pretty much guarantees a fire proc and is good against clustered enemies. At the end of the day, you wanting something powerful against large groups of enemies and cheap is just unrealistic since it'd be op otherwise. Either learn to thin the horde before attacking a group or position yourself properly and try to take the weak ones out first before fighting the harder enemies.
i know some time had passed but i'm currently playing nioh 2 and i am trying your build. the problem i have is that i don't understand how to temper spear with life on heavy attacks. I have this trait on bo but i don't understand how to put it on a spear. the yoriki set dosen't help me too much cause the life on kill is not helping me during fights or bosses. Also i dont' have the guardian spirit that you mention since i'm at the first world. Any help?
Much obliged for the build Spooky - I shed PWAR's Tosa Governor build for this and I ended up with two effective weapons to boot! On your Gozutenno Axe tho you get Atk Bonus Stamina AA+ so on paper you can shed the Obsidian Helmet for say Yuriki Helmet that'll give you Auto-Life Recovery (Enemy Killed) +25.5% ? Keeping the Obsidian's Atk Bonus Stamina A is redundant atp, no ?
I found life drain on melee kill is better than life drain melee attack is better. Each hit I get 20 back, but I kill in less than five for bigger enemies; so i end up getting much more for killing an enemy than a couple hits against an enemy.
You said this guide takes you from lvl 1 to end game but you never explained how the build works in early game??? You said get the Yoriki gear, life drain on spear, dump points into stamina and spam triangle? I try that and get three shotted by the one arm boss... please explain better for early game.

It comes down how a person plays as to which Bossed will be hard to them. Plus some time it comes down to luck of the draw. And by that they might run into a "easy" vertion of the boss that spammed their weakest/slowest attacks. While other time a Boss might gant on you and use nothing but their unblockable attacks/stune lock combos
Actually no way you used that early set to facetank enemies. I get two shot by almost everything. Only build that works is Fuma Ninja since I can just shuriken delete annoying enemies.
@@spookypizza4371 Certainly feels like that changed. Aside from every good Yokai ability costing 2/3 more anima now. Early game is such a struggle it's unreal. And every build guide is for newgame+ divine sets minimum. I still might try something like yours soon, since the fuma ninja is of course ultra squishy. And the gear I made for it is lvl 32. Soul matching costs 1,5 mil per piece. The devs literally do not allow to upgrade items as you play, you have to remake and reroll or equip higher level stuff as you go and have no build.
I saw you using the Ax in the beginning of the video. Could I use the Ax over the spear. Im not that big on spear and might use it as my 2nd weapon but I really want to make an Ax build character once im done with my switchglave magic character. My main problem is that you cant stun lock yoki at all and I end up taking a big hit from yoki enemies doing a combo which then just causes me to stand back and just hitting yoki with a heavy attack after that take a swing at me and it gets really boring playing this game that way. It also annoying to not be able to do any combos without taking a huge hit mid combo again yoki enemies. Its the only real problem I have with the game. I understand why the devs wouldnt want yoki enemies to be stun locked but there should be something so you could at least get a combo out on a yoki enemies without worrying about die in the middle of that combo.

Let me start by saying, thank you. This build helped me keep my sanity from 60->100% of the main game. Oddly enough, I still had a few deaths with Toki and Otok and wasn't as "easy". With that said, I'd still recommend this as of 1.21 (I believe). OP - Could you clarify the order of leveling up (stats) skill points?
Yes I use it kinda a pain to follow I’d just run obsidian and a butt load of stamina also I use an axe anyway even tho he said use the spear first game run through I found them absolutely useless I dunno also pick the clan that does more damage based on how heavy you are or the simple regen and armita pick up it’s not much but it helps really does I pretty much casually go through areas not quite as op as I thought but with some basic skills you can make it through anything bosses are a touch harder then I thought they’d be In only lvl 100 tho
Sorry this guide is kinda awful. You don't in anyway explain Stat distribution. Following your guide, you can't use all abilities of the GS first of all. Attack speed is ultra slow so you are likely to get murdered between hits. Clearly something is missing from the explanation.. ALWAYS out of ki following your advice =dead. Not enough magic to equip things etc... ty for trying though, glad you know what to do.
BTW dude, did you ever cover the start of the game at all when levelling with the spear and stuff? I really don't know whether to start with Spear or just dive straight into axe. as I have no idea what skills and stuff to get for spear, it's going to be more difficult. Where as I can cross ref your build with fighting cowboys axe build and probably have an easier time. I like the idea that spear has a lot of health though. I think with axe you are way more squishy at the start. What second weapon do you pick when starting with spear, please?
this build is actually kinda awful. Its gonna carry u through the story with shin roku, regen from armor and spear heavy attack mashing but at the endgame it really lacks.. ultra slow speed, life steal becomes not reliable, always at low/0 ki cuz endgame gauntlet bosses shred throu blocking like through butter, i dont know if it was nerfed, jumped onto nioh pretty recently but - gain big level, finish the story, maybe clear some shit in the 2nd difficulty and reroll.. for me lightning dual swords did the job, brought back OP feeling
nice but i play Nioh 2 too and i dont need sutch stuff its not that hard if you use all the mechanics like the counter [ Burst Attack ] and so its fine. And overall when you do a guide show from the beginning, not when you have all it takes a bit till you have as example Kasha. i look often for inspiration in nioh 2 vids on youtube but i'm not the player that can make guides i only play the game build my char till i like it and the game is smooth with it like in Dark Souls 1 - 3 .

Spooky Pizza you probably know this but you can buff with rage and adamantine with an axe you get 2 buffs and they don't override each other;)

If I find a set I like while leveling how do I keep it up to my current level?
Looks good. You could just use Rage instead of Power Pill. I think it’s stronger and they don’t stack. Could be wrong though.

Kamataichi isn’t a hard boss. Hardest is probably the boar Hatchet guy. At least for me. He is a one shot wonder in that tight space.

BTW dude, did you ever cover the start of the game at all when levelling with the spear and stuff? I really don't know whether to start with Spear or just dive straight into axe. as I have no idea what skills and stuff to get for spear, it's going to be more difficult. Where as I can cross ref your build with fighting cowboys axe build and probably have an easier time.
I like the idea that spear has a lot of health though. I think with axe you are way more squishy at the start.
What second weapon do you pick when starting with spear, please?
this build is actually kinda awful. Its gonna carry u through the story with shin roku, regen from armor and spear heavy attack mashing but at the endgame it really lacks.. ultra slow speed, life steal becomes not reliable, always at low/0 ki cuz endgame gauntlet bosses shred throu blocking like through butter, i dont know if it was nerfed, jumped onto nioh pretty recently but - gain big level, finish the story, maybe clear some shit in the 2nd difficulty and reroll.. for me lightning dual swords did the job, brought back OP feeling

nice but i play Nioh 2 too and i dont need sutch stuff its not that hard if you use all the mechanics like the counter [ Burst Attack ] and so its fine. And overall when you do a guide show from the beginning, not when you have all it takes a bit till you have as example Kasha. i look often for inspiration in nioh 2 vids on youtube but i'm not the player that can make guides i only play the game build my char till i like it and the game is smooth with it like in Dark Souls 1 - 3 .

How the hell is this beginner friendly? I'm 35 hours in and only just getting to kasha. I've almost beaten her twice and after doing that, I won't need an unkillable build, because....... I would have beaten some hard bosses before and will beat everyone after. Good idea though🤘
