Loving these videos. We think the same way for a project. I’m looking for this exact same ski to restore! Always wanted one as a kid. We had Monte Carlo’s

Dan, My 97 Tiger Shark Daytona 1000 has the same level of oxidation as yours did, what grit of sandpaper did you start with before you buffed it?
Just out of curiosity, how fast does yours go? Mine at 5,000 ft. hits 51 on GPS. I'll have to try mine out now that the engine has 4 bolts holding it in instead of 1. With just one bolt the engine would tilt up from one side, once I took exhaust manifold off it would then pivot side to side. My prop started to eat a little fiberglass, I was wondering if that is what happened to yours.
And yes engineering on the engine plate sucks, pulled my engine out today.

I started with 1000 grit and moved to 1500. Mine will run 58MPH on GPS pretty constantly.

Where did the shims go on this ? The thick ones in the front and the skinny ones in the back?

Dan, at 2:02 in this video you are screwing the PTO back on; HOW DO YOU BREAK THIS LOOSE???? My spanner wrench won't fit in the notch? AND may I ask what type parts cleaner do you use that you can mix in a bucket?

I actually bought it with the PTO flywheel already removed. Yes! I lucked out! If you have to remove it, you will need to buy the special Tigershark removal tool (part#0644-284) or buy a chain wrench. I recently started a new Tigershark project and will have to break the PTO flywheel myself this time. Hopefully it goes smooth...
I just used cheap degreaser from Walmart to clean the parts. I think the stuff is called Purple Power.

Jeremy, I'm just now seeing this comment. Sure I can try and help you. Can you send a picture to diydancars@gmail.com of what you mean by outflow hoses?

I have Identical machine, I just removed the engine in mine today because 3 of the 4 bolts holding the engine fell out from the previous owner, while I had it out I put in a block off plate for oil injection.
How can you get tools and or hand under the black engine plate to remove the engine bolts?
Must remove 6 plate bolts to raise the engine enough to get hand and tools under the plate to remove the 4 engine bolts. The same goes for reinstalling the engine.
