it is! But I didn't like the Lyrics. they don't match the music their is a disconnect and they are somewhat a little indulgent I am not a wealthy person hanging out on some island. other than that i like it.
The vids of the building of the main tracks (on an island and blue) are tremendous - for me these tracks have become the iconic "sound and tone" of David Gilmour -- no one else (excluding copyists) has the same tone. Listen to live a Gd and Pomp it is an extraordinary sound and feeling. I was not aware that Polly and Jules Holland played piano on the album.

The soundtrack of 2006 for me surely. What a great album.
I would say that On an Island was his magnum opus. Definitely a masterpiece of an album from start to finish.
