Seger doesn’t merely walk out there and sing. He rocks that stage with so much passion and fervor. A real rocker who actually works his job (performance).
Sounds pretty damn good for an unretouched live version. One of his best songs in my opinion; solid vocals, both lead and backing, well written and tightly packaged. Its strange it never made it on to any of his "Greatest Hits" or "Best of" compilations. It certainly deserves a spot there.
What a Fantastic live version of Bob Segar's most underrated song! This video really captures the sheer power and passion of him and his outstanding band. Thanks so much for posting it!
Based on a recent interview, it sounds like it sometimes comes down to degree of difficulty. Maybe the chorus of Even Now was too much of a strain for touring.
Not sure what Capitol Records was thinking by not releasing this song as the first single off "The Distance" SMH. Even Now is one of the best songs Bob has EVER done. Nothing against any of the other songs on this album, but this song is just incredible, from his vocals to the lyrics and to whoever posted this, THANK YOU!
Man his band was so tight. The epitome of great songwriting and professional musicians at the top of their game probably because of hours and hours of rehearsals. Oh yeh and a great leader in Bob Seger.
I don't know why people don't love this more. I think it's one of the top 200 songs of all time. Never seen any kind of legitimate video before, thanks for posting.
Sounds like an early Springsteen rocker. Love it! You know his stuff and Bob's are often compared to each other, but this one even more so could be, I think.
@@richardhenk7490 man, you’re so right.. Springsteen and Stevie Winwood got nothin’ on him (Seger lyrics at end of heavy music from like 1968) it’s amazing. Not sure on date but you’ll find it if you look it up Now.. he was probably first shadow banned rock ‘n’ roller But he had not sold his soul to the devil! Bob Seger did it his way. He could not be bought.. compare him to all the other sellouts.. that’s right.. none of the CIA operatives could come close to Segers passion, love of music and humility. He is amazing!
its hard to choose my fav. Seger songs..for awhile i would say my fav. songs were off the rambln. gmbln. man album n some off mongrel. At the moment my fav. ones r Even Now and Brave Strangers. Wish there was a live version of Brave Strangers on utube
Fucking record companies deleted almost all of Bob's music (yet modern pop garbage like Nicki Minaj can stay up with millions of views?), and all we're stuck with is a live version with VHS static. It's so underappreciated and never played anyway. :(
For sure. I LOVE the energy (and it does sound 80s with the keyboards, but not so much to stop it from being timeless). I wonder why it never caught on? I didn't even know it existed until my early 20s in 2005.
+JPMcFly1985Two I understand that bands need to get paid, but still think there should be a few free internet outlets for free music from all bands from every era. RUclips works as a great free outlet. Now there is also bandcamp, and pandora. Spotify too, but bands get paid like 1 cent for every song play, so that fucks them over.
I'm saying this at the risk of being insulted by some RUclips cowardly idiot who doesn't share my opinion but this is a great but forgotten song. Thanks Bob Seger!

Have, literally listened to this song hundreds of times. No joke. And still LOVE IT.

Just Love Bob Segar!!! Even Now!!!!
This tune is epic - possibly Bob's most ass-kicking song ever!
no auto tune, no earpieces, just real talent.
The Great Bob Seger!! Thank you !!
Every ounce of energy
His best song if you ask me. Gotta be played nice and loud. What a band, and what set of pipes on the man.
I agree!
My 2 favorite Seger songs are Even Now and Roll Me Away. Not a coincidence that those are the two that Roy Bittan played on, imo.
The Profesor? Roy Bittan!! I didn't know that!
Only survived the one tour, I think now because of how much it took to play and sing it. One of my favorites.
Musicianship at its finest on display here
Such an epic iconic voice.
5 people hate their lives...disliking this song makes you a bad person. Bob is the king.
👏😂
Everything you sing is awesome and beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
What a Fantastic live version of Bob Segar's most underrated song! This video really captures the sheer power and passion of him and his outstanding band. Thanks so much for posting it!
So correct!
Live video but studio version of the song.
Best damn Seger song there is. Doesn't get the credit it deserves
Especially from Bob! When was the last time he performed it live? 1986?
yes it is ..it sux that he has done basically the exact same set list for the last 30 years
with no "even now"
Based on a recent interview, it sounds like it sometimes comes down to degree of difficulty. Maybe the chorus of Even Now was too much of a strain for touring.
Agreed

Best male vocalist ever.

My ALL time favorite Bob Seger song. Too bad it never received much air play. At least not where I live.
So correct! Underrated indeed!
Other than when it first came out your right, you almost never heard this one on the radio
The distance. My first concert.
AWESOME!!!!!!
Man his band was so tight. The epitome of great songwriting and professional musicians at the top of their game probably because of hours and hours of rehearsals. Oh yeh and a great leader in Bob Seger.
THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY
IS EVERY SONG HE SINGS IT HAS EFFECTED YOU IN SOME WAY!!!

The song still outshines all of his other work, 40 years the Best track!
He's got too many great songs for me to say this is the "Best".
Awesome. Took me a while to find out it was Bob Sevareid who sang this song! 80’s B-side classic. Like a rock-from that older time rock and roll!
Great energy
Grande Bob seger desde chile Miguel Zuñiga
One of if not the best song Bob ever did...it carries a huge message to me ...
Spring break '83 this received alot of airplay in Orlando Florida
That sound so wonderful to have been in Orlando at that time!
WOW! That was GREAT! He did not miss one beat, not one note in that song. To be on that stage would be the thrill of a lifetime!!
My all time favorite band! Man he sounded so good on this and the band was TIGHT!
One of the best concerts I ever saw!!! Bad Ass!
Even Now and every time I hear this song I'm taken out of myself. Essence.

God bless Bob Seger. What great music he still makes.
How could someone dis-like this great song & performance???(6)
I don't know why people don't love this more. I think it's one of the top 200 songs of all time. Never seen any kind of legitimate video before, thanks for posting.
You're right it's definitely one of my favorite Seger songs too, hidden under the radar, and I absolutely love the fade out at the end with the organ
Love this song! The keyboard player was getting off!!!
Truly awesome. Glimpses like this from the past is why I love RUclips.
Best vocals of all his songs. This really showed he can really bring it.
One of my favorite Seger songs. Bad stage moves and all. :)
My all time favorite ❤️ now and forever🔥
great song by a master. thanks for posting. thank you bob.
Best live band ever!
Even now, I find myself turning the volume up every time i here this song.
Omg awsome been with my wife 35 yrs song is more than right!!!
very underplayed song....great stuff
This is my favorite "Seger Bullet" song
Sounds like an early Springsteen rocker. Love it! You know his stuff and Bob's are often compared to each other, but this one even more so could be, I think.
Features Springsteen's piano player Roy Bittan.
Seger and Springsteen had concerts together! 1 in my home town 6 or 7yrs ago Highland Michigan, 2miles from where I grew up and I missed it.
springsteen cant touch seger you have insulted the man

There is - it's on Live from Cobo Hall
Chris Campbell has been with Seger since the start. What a great partnership.
Come to Holland Bob!
What a fucking outstanding performance of an outstanding song!!!
Another awsome song------unavailable on I tunes
my very very favorite song ever! I do agree with comment about modern music.
I don't know why the internet can never praise something without putting down other stuff.
Still wondering why this wasn't on either of his greatest hits albums
im literally BEGGING ... could someone PLEASE post the CD/STUDIO/ALBUM version of 'Even Now' by Bob Seger ?
Somebody posted it is the best the distance
The album/CG was "The Distance"
This is THE one song where you roll down the windows, crank up the radio and rip the knob off and cruise down the road leaving all your cares behind.
Didn't realize that this was a legitimate live version of the song ... figured it was dubbed. Awesome song either way.
Wow. So close to the original…. Dumbfounded.
Is that Roy Bittan on piano? Fabulous hard driving piano!
Craig Frost
Love how it's actually the live version, and they don't dub in the studio version on a live video, Seger would have none of that
someone needs to upload the orig just the song with awesome quality.. this song is hard to find
here ya go.....ruclips.net/video/ZfMMdf7U7Rc/видео.html
Damn !!
Dedicated to somebody…….
Beautiful
great song

Same here. I literally knew nothing About this song til a few years back and I've been a Seger fan for years now
+JPMcFly1985Two I dont know where you guys were but this song was pretty big in florida that year. Loved Don Felder and that amazing guitar....

I'm saying this at the risk of being insulted by some RUclips cowardly idiot who doesn't share my opinion but this is a great but forgotten song. Thanks Bob Seger!
He really loses himself here. I can imagine feeling this strongly too about a dearest perhaps.
