  • The Rotring Isograph comes with a refillable cartridge and 2 disposable cartridges.
    In this video I am demonstrating how to mount the disposable cartridge into the pen. Rotring Isograph is useful for urban sketching, architectural drawing and ink and watercolor sketching
    Materials used:
    Pen for drawing: Rotring Isograph Pen 0.7 mm Black Ink

    Have you experimented with other inks that are not Rotring brand?

      No, I have not tried other inks

    Can this write on plastic Surface? I'm planning to use it on my plotter printer machine

      It can write, but it could be wiped afterwards. I would recommend permanent marker or acrylic marker such as Poska if you want that inscription to last.

    None of mine have ever come with a disposable cart. But that’s okay.

      Thank you for watching and your comment! Indeed for an economical and environmentally friendly use, the purpose of this pen is to use refillable cartridges. The disposable cartridge is probably included for demonstration purposes.

    Why's my rotring isograph pen forms dots end to end when i draw lines, especially when i'm using 0.5, is it bleeding?

      It depends on the paper. Try using another kind of paper.

    Why does mine spread so much ink when i write

    • @VictorSeremet
      @VictorSeremet  2 года назад +1

      Indeed, I noticed the same for Rotring Isograph. The ink flows more easily compared to other fineliners. It depends also on the speed of writing or drawing. Slow writing allows more ink to flow, while fast writing doesn’t. Also, when drawing I noticed that when drawing slowly you get a full line, but when I tried to crosshatch faster the line had a broken interrupted texture, it skipped some parts of the line, as if the flow of ink did not keep with my speed of crosshatching. If you want a precise crisp line this is a downside, but if you intend for a loose sketch it may give some expressive line, not so rigid and technical a fine liner can produce.

    I wonder if the set I got was bad because the ink that came with the set is watery. Not at all black. Kind of run down ink :/

      I am afraid I can't explain this. My set was ok, the ink was solid black.

      Sounds like the ink sat too long unused so the ink and the water separated, does it feel heavier on the bottom. I'm not speaking from experience but from what I've read about the inks drying out.

      @@daikaiser9394 Indeed, these pens need to be used almost daily so that the ink does not dry. If I do not use them mor than a week I need to "re-activate" the nib, soaking the tip of the nib in water. Afterwards, the ink runs smoothly.

    Can’t you use the end of the pen to screw onto the tip to make it easier to push into the cartridge like you can on the rapidograph?

    • @VictorSeremet
      @VictorSeremet  3 года назад +4

      I have not used a rapidograph yet, but I think, as per your description, it is the same method as that used for Lamy fountain pen disposable cartridges, the end of the pen pushes the cart screwing it. At Rotring Isograph I have not noticed such a system.
