Yall give Goddess Kylie Minogue her credit for reinventing dance music of the 2000's. Modern gays keep giving credit to Britney Spears, Madonna and Lady Gaga. Kylie reinvent herself entering 2000's with a pop-disco-techno-electronic come back Light Years before Madonna did confessions on a dancefloor.
I've noticed it seems to be an issue with US gays in particular. Sadly her music never really took off here. I discovered her by sheer accident myself. It's a shame though. Her catalogue is incredible. She far surpasses Britney and Gaga for me.
Gaga brought back dancepop/electro with more power at the end of the 2000s and the begining of the 2010s, that's why she's credited. Kylie and Madonna were just always loyal to dancepop/electro since before it started being a thing mainly at the begining of the 2000s. But we also have to acknowledge that dancepop/electro was at its peak around 2009-2013, Madonna and Kylie maintained the genre relevant by them being relevant, same with Britney, but the main sound throughout the 2000s was r&b/rockpop music
It's tragic how they never promoted the whole Light Years album in the US as I felt like all the singles could of been big hits, particularly in the dance market/charts. That would of helped her establish an audience here before the release of Fever.
@@martinjss8 Agreed! I felt similarly about X. It came out shortly before dance-pop started becoming popular on the US charts, and I can't help but wonder how the album would've performed had the American singles been less All I See with a rent-a-rapper, and more In My Arms or Speakerphone.
This should have been a proper single. With music video, promo, radio support, everything. It is insanely catchy and infectious. And it's one of the highlights of Light Years for me.
A great rock like theme going on in this song. It's my recovery song after Bittersweet Goodbye. This song(Butterfly) sadly was not a single, but it wasn't up to Kylie, it was her record label, that decided against it. Fever is my favourite album but this album is awesome. I love all her albums past & present. Long live Kylie Minogue and her awesome music!
Should have been a single instead of the weak Please Stay. Her record company was against it, because it was so different from the previous singles of this album. Deemed it 'confusing' to her audience. When in fact it would have been the perfect bridge to the whole Fever-era.
Can someone tell me if this actually played in US clubs since it was released exclusively for them and charted ? This would make Butterfly her 1st US hit since Confide In Me hit dance club songs instead of Can’t Get You Out Of My Head like the general public thinks.
I love Miss Kylie Minogue. It's just that she doesn't like Queen Mariah Carey! Maybe she has some insecurities with her. For sure this song was inspired by Queen Mariah Carey's 'Butterfly' Song and 'Butterfly' Album. 🎤❤️🎁🦋🙏

This song is absolutely insane and powerful. I get goosebumps during the bridge. She is such a pop music expert.
The bridge is so good that it physically hurts.
She deserves a Grammy for this Song! It’s a Masterpiece of its own Right!
we need an album similar to Light Years!
I do agree with you Matthew.Light years is such a great album.XX
Kylie released “Disco” in November
@@oaernburnbut it's no the same :'( Light years has something special that Disco doesn't have (even if Disco is such a good album) 🕺❤️
@@diegogr5118 i concur, Light Years is way superior to the Disco album. & i say that wholeheartedly as a Kylie fanatic
Future nostalgia?
Light Years was such a pivotal reinvention for Kylie. The whole vibe on the album is so on point - disco and dance!
This song should be re-released onto the club scene, just to see how well it would do, its a classic in it's own right.....Kylie please listen ;)

Cher and Madonna did it too, friend! They did it together!
Madonna reinvented herself that year with Music too.

Women reinventing pop music. All of them Queens!!! ... Men who?

one of the best. Kylie darling if u see this message, relase this song again as single! i love you so much. 😍You are a shinning star!
Tragic this song never became a proper single. It has hit song written all over it.
It was a single in the US for dance club songs and charted there
@@NPGLAMB Grateful for that, at least! But sadly those charts are more niche here.

I am personally of the above-mentioned music album, it is the best song - so light, light drenched warmth and femininity. I give her all of 10 points.

This is the gay anthem!
Persona 4 vibes ^^
Whoa! I wouldn't have thought that at least one person other than me would understand that reference in a obscure song of Kylie ^^'
