    Was not expecting those cleans to be quite as convincing as they are, truly excellent pickups....and it's so nice to see a return to form after the issues that B C Rich have had in their history.
    Also - that upper fret access!

    I own an Extreme Mockingbird and Extreme Ironbird. Hands down my two favorite guitars I own and both play amazing. I’d love to get this in the Reptile Eye green and I’m still waiting to find a Stealth.

      I could do without the binding on the frat board. I have three of these guitars. it would probably be about $500 less had they not put that binding in there because it takes forever to router all that out and then bind it. Great guitar since 1981

    I've been thinking about getting one of these, I just don't know how comfortable it would be because see if the shape and it being a flat top guitar too. I really love the look and the color. Anyone think I should get one? I wanted to get one of the new stealth, but nobody has them. But the Warlock was always badass

    I loved this guitar in the 1980s. I bought one in 1991, but it was a cheap Japanese model made with plywood. It sounds like shit.
    I saw this guy in the store the other day, and my love was rekindled. Wanted to know what it sounds and plays like, and this is a great review.
    Thank-you so much.

      Nothing wrong with the 1000 Series OFR, it's absolutely identical to the german Floyd (both in design, materials used and measurements), the only difference is that the saddles are slightly angled which doesn't affect tone or tuning stabillity.

    Nice review!
    The only thing that is NOT making me buy this guitar is, No Stainless steel frets. Those are compulsory to have, atleast for me. Without SS frets, no new guitars for me.
    If BC rich puts SS frets on these awesome guitars, I'll rush to the store to buy.

      This is a great point that a lot of people will miss. I've been building customs for about 22yrs now, and seen the whole SS fretwire thing develop for almost all of that. Most of it, people hated working with SS, ragged on it for being "pingy" sounding (poor installation will do this) and all other things. NS is just an easy lazy wire to use. Since this was a MIK guitar, I'm guessing that it was World Musical Instrument Corporation product and I know they will do SS. So yeah, it was a missed trick.

      @@TristanJCumpole Wow! You are a guitar builder?
      I see no difference between sound of SS frets vs Nickle frets.
      I completely agree with you, that these factories don't like to work with SS because it's little difficult and damages the tools early. It's all about cost cutting for them.
      That's why they spread the propaganda about pingy SS noise.
      In reality, SS frets are light years better than old Nickel frets. SS frets last forever and bending is ultra smooth on it. Just cannot stand a guitar without SS frets.
      This is why I'm not buying any Gibson/Fender/PRS.
      If they switch to SS frets, then hell yeah, I'm interested.
      BTW, I love this BC rich guitar... Just would have prefered SS frets and maybe a case included for that price.
      Thanks mate!
      Cheers!

      @@ratedrsuperstarthega Factories are somewhat different to smaller custom builders for a number of reasons, however a lot of the conversation on NS vs SS has been driven by the DIY custom market and general "Internet talk". A lot of bias in that has been given to the material "having a sound" which it sort of does but doesn't really. It's a bit of a backwards way on of looking at it, same as comparing passive and actives. It's not that SS or actives "add" something to the sound (unless the preamp has EQing, I'm talking straight line buffering), it's that you're suddenly hearing something that passive and NS lose. In the case of passives, it's high end from pickup loading and cable run impedance losses, in the case of NS it's a _very_ slightly duller sound and not by much; nothing that an EQ can't fix. Factories and manufacturers will generally go with where the market is going. If SS is popular that week, they'll spec that to the factory and the factory will changes the schedule at their end. That's if they can get the spec change past the bean counters. But anyway. If you like the guitar, factor in a refret if SS means a lot to you, and get a reputable luthier to carry out the work.

    • @greekfreak1980
      @greekfreak1980 2 года назад +2

      Joe Satriani doesn't have ss-frets, Andy James specifically plays only nickel frets, Paul Reed Smith doesn't put ss-frets on his super expensive Made in USA guitars, but Mr. Bedroomshredder McVirtuoso won't buy a guitar with nickel frets.
      You gotta love the internet.....

    • @ratedrsuperstarthega
      @ratedrsuperstarthega 2 года назад +4

      @@greekfreak1980 Thanks for the insult.
      So those superstars use nickel frets because they get custom shop made guitars for free from the company. Also they have guitar tech who can refret their guitars multiple times and also dress the frets frequently. They do not have limited money like me and most of us here, whom you call bedroom shredder.
      We work hard to make little money that we have and we need to wait several months or years to save up money to buy a new guitar. Now if the guitar damages quickly if it has nickel frets, we don't have option of a tech to refret it because of high cost. Which is why stainless steel frets are compulsory to increase the life of the guitar significantly. I hope you get it.
