In theory the layout should be the same but subansambles as , cooler and heatpipes might differ and can come in contact with plastic parts of the case , you can broke that parts off the case as it’s plastic if you want it shouldn’t affect in any way ... i can not say for sure that is 100% compatible , but they must have the same layout on ports otherwise it will not allign properly ... i hope it helps you
Hi , from what i found and what i know you can upgrade to i7 620m which is not a quad core but a dual core cpu as the motherboard doesn’t support . I may be wrong and you can have a different revision and it can work .
