I was 16 when I went to Norway for the World Scout Jamboree... fell in love with the people and place instantly. Great to see the glow on your face as you begin a new trek. Cheers and adventure on!
I live in Trondheim and I wasn't in town when you were here. I wish I was because I absolutely would have loved to take you to lunch when you got here. I can't wait to watch this whole series.❤
@@NadineWalks I'm from Boston originally and moved here 17 years ago. I can't imagine living anywhere else. I love to explore, but this is a magical place to live. I have been inspired by you to do the Camino and I am hoping to to this spring if all goes to plan. Thank you for sharing so freely you experiences and knowledge. I hope you throughly enjoyed your time here.
The Munchs museum, what a scream!!!!! Hi Nadine, I know I couldn’t resist, although I probably could have, it’s the temptation that I couldn’t resist. Oslo still sounds eyewateringly expensive. It will be interesting to see how you do your accommodation along the way. I will also wonder if you’ve managed to find yourself a spirit stove for your impromptu trail coffee……
I know, I'm so grateful! I have a job in a school so 10 months of the year I work very hard, and then I take this summer time off to do the things that I love.
Oof I know, that beer was expensive! I tend to be very careful with my money so I had to work on a mindset shift when I was in Norway (telling myself that I planned for this, saved for this, etc). But I do have to say, that $12 beer was a great decision and such a good treat to kick off my walk!
You'll probably see throughout the series how it compares... and eventually I'm going to make a few videos that highlight this walk (and will probably compare/contrast to the Camino). It's harder, for sure, and you have to be more prepared with food/water. It's good to have an accommodation plan a few days out and best to reserve at least a day ahead (unless you're camping). Those are a couple of the big differences off the top of my head!

I fell in love with Norway pretty quickly as well :)
@@NadineWalks if you haven't yet... check out "The Worst Person In The World"... a good film and Oslo is quite celebrated in it.
@@NadineWalks also, the World Jamboree was held in Lillehammer.

I'm so touched by your thoughtfulness, and if you HAD been in town, a meetup and lunch would have been lovely :) You live in a wonderful place!

Hahaha, good joke ;) Oslo, and the entirety of Norway, was pretty expensive. It's the one drawback of this pilgrimage!
Congratulations on the start of another adventure .
Thank you!!
Sending you best wishes for this new adventure, Nadine -- may the spirit of St Olav guide and keep you safe🙏
This episode was great my friend! Gorgeous work, your energy is fantastic and you elaborated this so nicely!

You're gonna love this!! Yay! Did the Oslo to Trondheim aka Pilgrimsleden in 2017.
I walked St Olaf’s Way in 2017! I am going to enjoy walking it again with you!
Wow!!...just getting enough time to go see places like Norway, Spain, Portugal... really Awesome.

I can’t wait for the trip report and to see the differences between this Nordic trail and the Iberian ones.
There were definitely some similarities, but plenty of differences too! I'm excited to share the videos :)
I’m a new follower, and so looking forward to this vlog series. Thanks for letting us follow along. Have a great hike!
Very happy to have you here! :)
Buen Camino! Or in Norwegian: god mate!
Awe Nadine so nice to see another video from you on a new walk!! So excited to watch your new adventure!!
I'm so glad to be sharing it! :)
Looking forward to hearing about your trip....I loved Oslo but didnt love how much you had to pay for a beer where you had yours. Buen Camino

Awesome
Would enjoy hearing how it compares to the Camino. Different obviously, but pros & cons & differences.

@@NadineWalks Thank you for the prompt, helpful reply!
Will follow your posts! I have all the books etc on this one but have never done it. Are you planning to do the section across to Stockholm as well?
Just Oslo to Trondheim for this trip, but maybe one day I'll add some other sections or do other routes!
I’ve been looking forward to this story. I’m off next week for a month in Stockholm to see family. Let’s hope Monkey Pox doesn’t become a thing!
You’re unlikely to catch monkey pox unless you go looking for it. If you know what I mean.
Safe travels! :)
