    Hi,
    You mentioned that there was no seaweed. I wanted to ask you when were you there? I just came back from there 3 weeks ago. I went at the end of November.

    Were there mosquitos? How was the beach? (seaweed, rocks, concrete barriers etc)

    • @kyle-ok
      @kyle-ok  10 месяцев назад +1

      We did their market dinner and there were mosquitos. But other than that I didn't notice them at all - just at that one outside dinner. The beach was great. They do have some big concrete barriers out in the water that I assume helps protect the beach from seaweed. Doesn't look the best - it is noticeable but it didn't really bother me . No seaweed on the beach when we were there.

      @@kyle-ok thanks so much for your reply. One more quick question - generally how much would you say it costs for a dinner for family of four at this property? (assuming not inclusive booking)

    • @kyle-ok
      @kyle-ok  10 месяцев назад +1

      Honestly I'm not sure. Once we confirmed the all inclusive was as it was suppose to be and we wouldn't be stuck with a bill at the end we just signed the tickets and didn't really look. Sorry to not be of much help for that one.

    I'm booking with cheap Caribbean, how do i make sure is all inclusive?

    • @kyle-ok
      @kyle-ok  4 месяца назад

      For Fairmont Mayakoba - because it is optional all inclusive you will need to make sure it specifically says All-Inclusive. I jumped on Cheap Caribbean real quick to see how they do it and only see an offer for the European Plan, which is NOT all inclusive. On my quick search I did not see that cheap Caribbean offers it.

    How much extra did the all inclusive cost?

    • @kyle-ok
      @kyle-ok  5 месяцев назад +1

      I know the price fluctuates but I think we were about $400-$500 more per night when we went

      @@kyle-ok Thanks for that! I'm not a drinker, do you think it's worth it?

    • @kyle-ok
      @kyle-ok  5 месяцев назад

      @@atelianaamato8223 I'm a big all inclusive guy and I do think it probably saves money. But there's also the other aspect of just not worrying about food pricing at meals and being able to just leave your wallet in the safe in the room and being able to just enjoy what they have to offer. So for example we ate at the steak house and they had a set menu for the all inclusive and an upgrade menu that costs extra. We all went with the menu for the all inclusive and had steaks and a great meal! I'm sure that would have been very very expensive if we weren't doing the all inclusive AND we didn't even think twice about it -- so yes, I do think it's worth it.

    • @kyle-ok
      @kyle-ok  9 месяцев назад

      Honestly the prices fluctuate so much I couldn't give an exact answer but based on their website, look to pay about $500 more per night for the all inclusive

    If I could give a -100 stars I would. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESORT. My 9-month-old son and husband got severely sick at the resort with a bacterial infection from food. I should have known better as on arrival the table in our "casita" was covered in ants which was an issue the entire stay. For paying $22,000 for 7 nights not including anything other than the room, you would expect cleanliness. In Mexico, you have to pay the hospital stay upfront so in order to get my baby treated we had to pay over $10,000 USD. We were in the hospital for 3 nights and 2 days and the hotel took no ownership of what happened. They charged our card for an extended stay, hundreds of dollars for additional baby supplies and the like that we needed as a result of an extended stay with a massive mark up and handled everything inappropriately. My baby went through hell, as did my husband. The hotel could care less. When we needed a car to pick us up from the hospital at 3:00 AM in Playa del Carmen 30+ minutes away where we were sent via a rusted-out van to their "hospital" with no equipment which was considered "Medical Transport" we were told we had to take a cab back to the hotel while they had 4 brand new SUVs sitting outside. In the end, the Director of the Hotel, Juan Carlos, said he was covering dinner for us the night we returned from the hospital, our laundry bill as we needed clean clothes at the hospital and the visit from the doctor at the hotel who did nothing but send us to the hospital. I was charged on my card $50,000 USD to cover the stay in the suite we had with the additional days and incidentals! Please reread this...$50,000 USD NOT PESOS! And of course, the hospital bill was over $10,000 USD like I said previously. This is absolutely disgusting on their behalf knowing what my baby went through. NEVER GO THERE AND IF YOU ARE THERE, NEVER EAT THE FOOD, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

      Your comment has stuck with me all day. My first instincts are to make sure y’all are all ok of course, but I realized you also addressed the cost quite a bit also. In sharing these videos we want to help people travel better. I was thinking that there’s nothing I could have done about getting sick but I do have some strategies and tips we use to save money on travel. For example we just got back about 2 weeks ago from Secrets Playa Mujeres on a $6,000+ trip that we paid only about $350 cost and another $300 in optional expenses. So paid about 10% of the advertised rate. Again, I can’t fix your terrible experience you had but I believe travel makes life great and hope you can have great vacays in the future. If you want, contact me directly at PointsShark .com and check out our MasterClass Guide Books. It’s a new thing we’re doing to try to help people have great experiences and save money on trips.
