I honestly like this rage forest content from you more than anything else. Especially when the games go longer.
Exactly. When a YT video with rage forest lasts for like 25-30 minutes, there is almost no fight. 50 minutes means there was very hard battle
I think the biggest weakness I see out of players in rage forest is stubbornness with composition. Genoese xbows only was a bad idea and/or not going cavalier earlier was a bad idea. This is far from the only game I've seen where this stubbornness leads to such struggling too. It's a good thing to take note of.
I think lack of building space and getting tech to switch was the problem, needed like 10 stables to have enough to stop the push they were dealing with.

I kept thinking what a different game it'd have been if blue went with some halbs at the first sight of hussar (especially with 8 tiles of stone and 7 gold under 2 castles) , grey being allowed back in the game pushed you into a dragged out gg
italian only have pikeman though, it does not scale well. genoese makes sense somehow, but it was slow
@@federicomarroni7713 Even a handful of pikes in front of the janissaries or bbc to provide some shield, the lack of meat shield just kept snowballing for the other team as they had to keep pulling back more and more
Nah, Tatoh immediately go cav archers, those pikes would've die faster than Viper's Hussars and accomplishing nothing. Besides their problem was Siege rams that soak up a lot of attacks from both genoese and jannis, they needed strong melee unit that won't die easily, so blue should have gone for Cavalier instead of genoese the moment he saw bunch of Rams but it's easy to say when we were watching recorded games.
And that's the snowball you're talking of. The hussar opening from Tatoh should have been met with something to hold the ground the castles gave, giving them room and time behind to mass up instead of having to always pull back/ recreate units to try and push.. Of course it's easy looking at a rec and saying things that could have gone different, thats why I made my starting comment saying "I kept thinking what a different game it'd have been"
He spent 1000s of gold on monks that did very little. Was painful, should have gone spears into condo and meat shielded

I think they're good friends and teammates. Viper always gives Daut a lot of respect when he's being serious, such as when talking about opponents he finds challenging or doing ranking lists of top players. But they like to make jokes about each other as well :)

Really stupid, idk why Somero didn’t go Cavalier or Condotierro early. He clearly saw Viper had already committed to janissaries which countered just about everything except siege… Why he went Genoese Crossbows is just mind boggling to me.
What evs, gg anyways. I think either if Somero builds situationally correct there or Celts were on the right side, they break through easy.
I understand Genoese Crossbows counter Cavalry, but so do janissaries. Just lack of awareness imo.
I think Genoese are miles more effective vs cavalry and cav archers than Janissaries are. Somero just didn't micro them at all and let the Celt rams distract 90% of his arrows. It makes more sense for Viper to go Cavalier, especially as the pocket with the better farming economy. Both civs have the same upgrades for cavalier, champion, and condottieri.
@@Tobotimus I agree with that, but like I had already mentioned. Viper already had like 3 castles and 40+ Janissaries before Somero even had 1. Would make more sense for him to tech into a unit that isn’t already on the field.
