      Please on these tanks with the stainless steel intake and return tubes where are they going to a sump underneath or just a pump for circulation? If a sump can you show us please. I haven't done freshwater in at least 30 years so.

    I was amazed at your work on this aquarium, but something else amazed me even more. Your love of Duckweed. My jaw dropped. I have been fighting this annoying little plant for over a year. When you purposely scooped some up and populated your new tank with it, I was beside myself with disbelief. My Duckweed arrived hiding in some plants I purchased online. In 39 years of having aquariums, I've never had Duckweed until now. It might not be so bad just sitting there (it is rather pretty) but it clogs up the intake valves of my filters and takes over the entire surface of the tank. I've tried everything that I can think of to keep this under control, actually wanting to eradicate it completely out of my tanks. And then I see your video, and the comments, and how much everyone loves it. Apparently I am missing something. Please educate me. I obviously cannot get rid of it, so I guess I should learn to embrace it. So far I've been seeing it as a bad plant. Why is it a good plant to have? And how do you keep it from clogging up your filters?

    • @vonmajor

      if you have a friend that has a pet that needs some green stuff? Duckweed can be a treat. Used in fake burgers too! I'll stick with may grass raised beef.

    Watching this video, I'm nervous you're going to scratch the beautiful wood table and floor with those rocks. My wife wouldn't let me do that stuff in the living room!
    Final result looks wonderful! I hope you stock it with tiny, tiny little fish, to make the cave more cavernous (from their perspective). I think Norton's lampeye killis or little ember tetras would look great. Like maybe 20 of them... would look great as a monospecies tank, or maybe a few ghost shrimp in there too, but not too much of a mix.

    I hope you will stock it with a peacock eel and a couple of patriot crabs. I have a similar set up with rock/cave/waterfall. My eel and crabs love it.

    Not sure what it is called in Britain, but look into something called egg crate. I searched the word fir Britain egg crate and pulls up chicken egg holders. So go to bulk reef supply and type on egg crate it pulls up. Basically a plastic sheet with small square holes about 1cm x 1cm. I as well concerned about glass a rocks.

    Looks awesome, i think itd be a nice touch if you put some small tufts of moss between the gaps of the base rocks on the very left side of the tank. The two bottom cracks where the three lowest rocks stack would look nice with the bit of moss

    I am concerned about the rock sitting directly on glass separated by a thin layer of plastic. The rock has sharp edges thaht will cut into the plastic and create sharp points of weight directly on the glass. The potential for the rock to etch the glass at those points is very high. Please tell me you put the rock on sand to distribute the weight on the glass.

    • @MDFishTanks
      @MDFishTanks  4 года назад +1

      nope....lol. I like to take risks haha. no honestly, there are basically 3 main rocks the rest are placed on, these are almost completely flat and there are lots of layers of the plastic sponge beneath them. There will be no issue :)
