This wagon is called point south wagon which was invented at about 4000 years ago by huang di ( Chinese emperor), the finger always pointing to the south for direction, at that time there’s no compass. At military point it was this wagon gave military direction when battle in unclear weather conditions. It’s one of the great inventions in Chinese history. What really impressed me is that he put all this effort into making a restoration using a very poor type of wood that won't long too much.
And made the hubs with the wrong grain direction…
Very interesting what he was making. Obviously this is soft wood possibly pine. And very sharp cutting chisels and saw blades. What this video doesn't show is how all that heavy timber was cut dressed to dimensional thickens before what we see.
I think he might have meant he made a replica, not restoration. Similar words, could be confused in translation.

Restoration is a process of completing an existing object that has missing parts/elements or if there are decayed parts/quality then bringing it back to original or as close to original value, quality, integrity or purpose as possible.
This wasn’t a restoration. It is rather a recreation even that is highly questionable choosing medium quality wood with incorrect grain orientation for cog wheels, spokes, wheel hubs and rims.
The craftsman devotion is there for sure but somehow the complete preliminary research on some important details and material quality was overlooked.

i cant even focus on the built because of the poor budgies. that cage is AWFUL. its way too tiny for them , its round wich is even worse as budgies need corners to hide in to feel safe. they are surrounded by cats aka predators. and we never see them in a single video after this one (unless im totally blind. if i am please correct me) and they are babies. so if they died it sure as hell wasnt age
