  • WEATHER: Ex-hurricane hits Germany - now the dangerous storm front is rolling in from the south!
Last night, ex-hurricane "Kirk" reached Germany and brought heavy rain, especially in the southwest. But don't worry, Kirk has lost its hurricane status and is now a normal low-pressure area. The low is moving towards the Baltic Sea and continues to bring unstable weather. While it remains dry in large parts of the country, the coastal regions and mountains in particular are hit by strong winds and gusts of wind.
Today the low is moving over the Baltic Sea and is strengthened by another low-pressure area from the North Sea. This leads to a westerly current that is typical for October and ensures changeable weather. Showers are expected especially in the west and in the evening also in the east and in Bavaria. Temperatures range from 12° on Sylt to 20° in Lusatia. It will be particularly windy on the North Sea and in the mountains, with heavy gusts of wind in the Ore Mountains.
Friday promises fewer showers, especially in the south and on the coasts. Saturday will be "quite nice" before more showers arrive on Sunday. Temperatures will remain mild, between 14° and 18°, but there will be isolated thunderstorms. A typo indicated frost on the night from Saturday to Sunday, but this has been corrected.
