Dear when the Asset will be Increases then is recording in Dr. Side of Accounting books. Assets includes ( Cash, Accounts Receivable and Inventory etc). So this is the reason why Cash is debited. Cash always shows Debited balances.
No its an Accounts Payable question. Suppliers are Vendors who the company buys from. "A Supplier/Vendor" is paid by the company. Customers pay money to the company.

If a supplier paid by cheque..how can it effects the cash account 🤷🏼♂️...it should effect the bank account instead
