Dance Rumba Swivels and Routine
Question:
I noticed as I watched Blackpool and other pro competitions that some competitors have more hip movement than others. Am I correct to believe that some of these competitors do too much hip movement when it is not necessary for competition? I have always wondered how much hip movement is enough, as in Rumba and ChaCha.
+viewer087 I think that there can be too much hip movement. But there are many aspects to consider like: role of man and women in particular dance, individual physical differences between dancers, timing of movement, tempo of music etc.
+Egils Smagris So basically, from a judges standpoint, extra hip movement does or does not get more points?
No its not that easy, because hip movement just plays its role (although imortant one) in whole movement.
+Egils Smagris Thanks, kind of wondered. ( I am probably going beyond my level of competition with the question, so I will leave that until I get to that level to worry about it).
I overdid a lady one time.
