Very nice video you almost covered everything related to life in Hong Kong. I don't know if you remember me but I studied a course from you at DSU during my undergrad. Later after my masters from Turkey you recommended me to your professor at XJTU. I got the admission and CSC scholarship but unfortunately I couldn't make it due to Covid and traveling restrictions. But at that time I started my PhD in Turkey and recently transferred to Canada on scholarship and now continuing my PhD here. All in all what I learned from your video is that Hongkong doesn't offer anything less than Canada maybe it is offering even more. I don't know about the tax deductions there hopefully it is less than Canada. But Hongkong surely seems like an amazing place for immigration, work and study opportunities. Canada is overhyped just due to easy PR but from your video I can guess that Hongkong is a great place for talented professionals and students to live, work and immigrate. I also got awareness through your video about Hongkong it is surely a must place to consider.

Yes, Canada was my first choice before immigrating to Hong Kong, and after finishing my PhD at PolyU, HK. I also got a postdoc position at the University of Ottawa (signed the contract) under a very famous and competent professor - selected from a pool of over 100 candidates. I applied for my work visa in November 2021. However, the visa processing kept on delaying at that time. I was supposed to join in the first week of January but I waited until March and then decided to instead go for Hong Kong as I was eligible for the IANG visa (mentioned in the video). When I arrived here then my visa was approved. However, they rejected my family's visa. So, I wrote them the letter that they can keep the visa themselves and I reject their visa. Now that I can see news related to inflation there, I am happy that I didn't get the visa in time. Regarding tax in HK, the individuals are taxed at progressive rates on their net chargeable income (i.e. assessable income after deductions and allowances) starting at 2% and is capped at 17%; or 15% of net income (i.e. income after deductions only), whichever is lower. Now the concept of deductions is interesting: if you file tax with your spouse, you have a child/children, living in rented appartment then there are huge deductions. I just filed my tax returns for the first time in Hong Kong and actually the first time ever. I didn't pay anything because of the deductions. Maybe in the next year, I might have to pay taxes depending on my personal situation.

sir very good and informative video, however, i just want to add one thing and that is medical system, i think you overrated that. As per my experience, specifically related to govt medical sector, you have to wait for 3 to 4 hours in emergency and 2 to 3 years for a specific consultant

I have no idea. Hong Kong is facing a severe shortage of medical workers, including doctors, though. I have seen foreigners working with local doctors in the government hospitals, so there may be some options.

Where to live in Hong Kong, which area is suitable, how to buy a car, etc. are not important things to worry about. Once you get the visa and arrive here, I am sure you will figure this out. Getting the job and visa is the most important thing.
There is no consultant that I know. I wouldn't advise using such services. Apply yourself. If you are competent, you will get admission. Everything is straightforward.
Immigration website se apko sari information mil gaegi. I have mentioned Immigration with students' perspectives in the video. In short, come here as a student, you get the IANG visa. Keep living here for 7 years in total. Afterward, you will get the PR and then apply for the passport.

If the dependent gets a job and his employers are willing to apply for his work visa, then it can be converted.
