A few artists use masks and bandanas as an gimmick. Most of them are legit. If you see a heavy war song with everybody in the video masked, there's war coming. Harlem Spartans are one of the LEGIT crews. There are beefs like the one between Chip and Yungen but that was a music thing mainly and never went overboard.

They be watching dem secretly, but even when they release a rat into the wild, that masking-nicknamed-methaphoric ting prevents them of doing EVEN MORE harm.
