that subtle slide up at the end by the lead is BEAUTIFUL
You can literally hear the crowd feeling goosebumps at this moment before erupting in applause
Ti's was a change from a minor chord with dissonance to a perfect major chord. The brain does not like minor chords or dissonance in general. It is the feeling of that tension to a whole beautiful resolve that captivated the audience.
@@kurtcrafton it started with a dominant chord, not a minor chord
The pat at the end. "Damn right we sounded good."
Haha!
Hey, man! Big fan! Keep doing what you love doing. I'll be rooting for you next year. :)
+Silvino thank you so much
Dude. You nailed it at the end there. Leading up to that final high bit, I was thinking... OK, this is it... He nails this, and it goes from a great performance to a masterful performance, and you just nailed it so much.
that 7-8 suspension at the end literally made me die. Great job
Literally! A post written by a dead ghost! =D
Perfect ending. Kudos to whomever arranged it!
@@Red87star
You could say it's a post written post-mortem
@@cicadaboi101 these replies are killing me
The bass has such a rich sound. it's great
Surprised this genre doesn't receive as much coverage as even accapella, these guys are a great example of how creative and adapted the genre is to modern day music.
I have a massive problem with people covering any Queen song especially this, and these guys achieved the almost impossible. You pulled it off brilliantly and Freddy would be proud I'm sure! Well done chaps!
Smifskii Smith, thanks for the kind words man.
Smifskii Smith you need 4 guys toe cover Freddie's range
I think they succeeded because they made it their own, rather than just trying to imitate the original.
im questioning ur love towards queen considering u spelled the lead singers name wrong
Ie not y
(Preface: I'm a stringed musician. I'm not too familiar with the terminology of singing parts. Correct me if I use the wrong term.)
That freaking bass, dude. That is such a solidly deep sound. I love it so much.
Mephostopheles Danny way are u doing here haha
U found that one lol :)
The one # 3 from left ;)
That bass is pretty deep and that man can sing everything lol
meph the lead is the melody the tenor line is where the sopranos would be the bass is down low and the poof baritone is in the middle (poor?) having all the fun of making those great chors
Resonates like a fucking didgeridoo
have you guys heard of Hops from Naturally 7? He has some pretty deep base too..Just look for "Naturally 7 solos"😁
They hit so many of the Freddy Mercury specific twists that make this song unique while still taking and making this original. This is amazing.
THE TONE OF THE BLACK GUY IS ACTUAL HEAVEN
That isn't just a Black Guy, that's Daniel Cockran. Check back a bit and you will see that with courtesy he thanked others for their compliments. No one in this world - barbershop or not - is a BLACK GUY.
@@juliasummers1770 but he is the only one in the group that's not caucasian, so yes, "black" is a specific enough description.
It isn’t racist to call someone black same as calling someone white
@@juliasummers1770 Look out everyone! Got a race guardian here!
@@colinbyer3018 How does pointing out someone's skin color when you don't know their name indicative of any kind of prejudice?
So, *those* are the lyrics!
Yeah, the lyrics in the original are "ahsbedamadahayaa can't barely stand on my feet, take a look in the mirror(and cry) lord, whatcha do to me. I spent all my years nbelievenoo but I can't just get the relief laaa somebody..."
@@gusjohnnson9641 have you ever heard this song?
It's sad that I learned the lyrics from Ella Enchanted.
Guy, those lyrics aren't hard to understand at all. Maybe get a decent speaker set and set your equalizer for the time period and not whatever the hell you've got it set to now.
Bless the audio engineers for recording this in stereo. Great performance, folks.
That BASS though! (As a bass myself, I fully respect this man! The other parts were phenomenal as well!)
I’m a bass, but that bass makes me look like an amateur

Having only recently gotten into barbershop, I can still say, this rendition is absolutely amazing! I was there!
How does this have 5 dislikes. The resolve at the end. I have died and gone to heaven
it doesn't have the raw energy of the original version. there are better covers of the song than this one
@@MrGrimlocke It's a barbershop cover how could it possibly have the same energy as the original
@@MrGrimlocke it is one of the best barbershop covers I have heard. And the Lead has such a smooth voice. And the bass has a very deep and rich sound.
Racists, probably.
@@MrGrimlocke I don't think that the raw energy is really the point, even in the original. The image of the word "Somebody to love", in my opinion, is all about intonation and articulation. Which I think they nailed.
I was lucky enough to be able to sing with them at the annual Barbershop Workshop.
that volume control of that lead! majestic
That was possibly the best cover of this song I have ever listened to. Honestly.
Barbershop is about the only thing that can still make me feel hopeful for humanity these days..let alone a Queen cover . Absolutely brilliant .
Outstanding performance! I was dubious of a Queen Barbershop but very glad I listened!
The world NEEDS to incorporate more HUMAN acoustic VOCAL BEAUTY in to one's life, such as you'all. BRAVO!!!
Wow! Seriously? That was really brilliantly performed. Damn!
I questioned this initially, but as the song progressed it only got better. Well done. Truly, well done.
Who gives these guys a thumbs down? All are so talented. Amazing.
The bass was INSANE!!!
.......That was stunning! The harmonies were close, no unnecessary vibrato, a wide pitch range. That’s pretty much a perfect barbershop quartet. 👏
I love these guys
Fantastic !!!
So heartwarming to see young men using their talent to keep the oldies alive!!!
Thanks for sharing!
Aussie new follower!
wow I actually got goosebumps at the end of this
Hearing this in person was honestly one of the most amazing things I got to do in high school.
These are the moments I wish I could sing low, I love it!!!
Still amazing....what a tribute to Queen and contest stand out performance!
Sheesh this performance is really profound. All the singers are AMAZING. But something really has to be said about Daniel's versatility as a lead! He has plenty of presence and emotion when he needs it and also knows how to turn it down and blend when the other parts are spotlighted! And his vocal control in ALL if his registers... Gifts from God given to all 4 of these men!!
This is fabulous!
So glad I got to first see this performance in person.....and can now watch it over and over again!
over two years old and still knocks me off my feet every time
Such a cleverly arranged tune!!
Beautifully clean and the enunciation is heavenly.
Sang Bass in a quartet YEARS ago! Loved it, was fun. The tenor here is great.
I love groups like this...to work in harmony like this they have to be decent friends :)
That's AWESOME! Loved it. Way to go guys.
Now THIS is singing! 🥰
Absolutely love the dissonant chord and resolution at the end. Brilliant.
A barbershop group doing a Queen song? Works for me. Love it.
they aint the only quartet, stormfront did a rendition of bohemian rhapsody. the bass of that quartet used to be a tennor back in the 90's or something and then became a bass. And there might be one or two other quartets but they may not even be involved in the BHS (such as Sonny vande putte) and so on but he is a one man quartet.
The glissando harmony at the end is crazy
50 out of 10, infinitely better than I could have hoped for, and I was hoping for a lot.
Looking forward to hearing these guys this weekend.
Love the base ! Incredible voice, great control !
Smiled the whole time. Thanks for that.
I love harmony.
Now, THAT was AMAZING!!! Very strong and solid voices. I don't even know which part is my favorite so I'll just say it's the whole performance!
That baritone has a crystal clear tone!
Hands down the best arrangement of this song i ever heard.
I find something I like every time I listen to this! Fantastic!
Incredible! You guys were great!!
One of the best songs I have ever heard in my life. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this version into my life!
SO CLEAN!!! BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I've got the biggest smile on my face right now.
Wow that's good stuff man I sang on The international stage as a quartet years ago it was an awesome experience at the Superdome in New Orleans.

So good. That smooth end to top it off.. Oh yes
This needs more views
Thats awesome
That is one of the best things ive ever heard . love that people do this 🌈🎆🎄
I would think that singing at a Barbershop Quartet competition would be the best audience in the world, except of course for the judges.
Listening to the reception for this, I have to think that I was justified in thinking that I listened to the greatest rendition of this song possible by ordinary humans.
And of course, then there's Danial Cockran. A-m-a-z-i-n-g.
so perfect
AWESOME!
Gorgeous!!!!!
I started to love this kind of music genre when I heard Mr. Sandman and Hello my Baby from The Chordettes
HELL YES!
Why are there 39 thumbs down on this??? This is GREAT!!!
Miss Enna 2 years ago for chorus when I was in 7th grade, I got to work with them. They are amazing. I wish I could see them more but I’m no longer in a chorus program at school. But they are fantastic singers that can work with anything.
I'm like crying right now. IDK
I both cry and laugh every time I watch this!
increible,..
Excellent.
Bravo!
I let out this 'ohhhhhhh' sigh sound at the end every time I listen to this..
Singing is lovely.
I'd love to hear this in a bbshop chorus
My new favorite quartet
Why is this so addictive
what talent!
I have never seen a black dude in a barbershop quartet. Dude was owning in!
what does he being black have anything to do with it?
@@panduadikara9078 the only white person where I work, I get picked on for loving this kind of music, I often get asked if I could be any whiter.
