We need a whole segment on Zach Justice. Not only did he met her at 14 and wait till she was 18 to start dating her, but he lived in the same house with her because he was working for her mom. I ended up developing it in only 7 months of extremely constant and high concentrate thc vape pen usage. Crossing my fingers she doesn't have it, but it took me a little to realize that weed was what was making me VIOLENTLY sick.
I’m glad that Love shared his experience playing online and hearing younger people being highly racist. I teach middle and high school - it’s not just gamers. Young people are seeing the outrage and sensationalism but not understanding the full context. It’s a tough road to educate ourselves and the next generation, but it’s so important.

Dan is 100% correct. Learned racism is still happening in the U.S. I’m from Alabama. Kids were saying the “n word” in elementary school. There’s definitely a phenomenon of learned racism. That being said, it shouldn’t be treated as normal. It’s not normal, even though it happens quite frequently and in large areas and through full generations. Just because it happens a lot doesn’t mean it’s something normal. Of course she can change and evolve and I’m sure many many people escape their racist family and become better people. I guess it’s just different when it’s someone online because they have such an influence. In normal life people don’t apologize like this, they just realize and apologize to their close friends and move on with life

When I was 16 and pumping gas in my car by myself for the first time also happened to be the first time I felt an earthquake. My car was shaking vigorously as soon as i started the pump. I couldn’t fathom how bad I had just screwed up.
Olivia!! I don't know if you will ever see this but the same thing was happening to me on Wellbutrin and Prozac. It got so bad that I was throwing up as soon as I would take my medication. I couldn't keep anything down. I had horrible acid reflux and also really bad dry mouth. Turns out it was the Wellbutrin. If you're taking Wellbutrin XL, especially along with other antidepressants, it can cause nausea and vomiting. I completely switched off because nothing was working even after talking to my Psychiatrist. BUT, her advice for coping with the symptoms was to eat frequent small meals. Our stomachs have a lot of serotonin receptors and so sometimes high doses of SSRI's can cause tummy issues. Eating a bunch of small meals frequently helps with slow release of the medication. Also, if you smoke nicotine and drink coffee that will aggravate the symptoms. Lastly Omeprazole was the only over the counter medicine that would even remotely work. It's basically just a antacid. I'll be honest, I thought and said stupid things too as a teenager, as a product of my environment, and my world views have evolved beyond recognition since my high school years because I've travelled, studied, lived in different places, and made an effort to meet people from other cultures. That said (for context, I'm 41) I had internet access when I was an isolated teenager in country Australia, and I didn't think once to use it to spread bigotry DESPITE coming from a pretty racist family background and culture in general. There was a level of comfort in her posting those memes publically that I find disturbing because there was INTENT to harm minorities in those posts - she KNEW that the people they targeted could and would see them. That says something about her character, not just her environment. We're not just talking about stupid "jokes" she made in private among friends that she deeply regrets and would not make today. She actively participated in causing harm, and I think this is where the problem lies in people accepting an apology or trusting her moving forward. So-called "influencers" don't have an inherent RIGHT to a platform, and if people don't want to support her, I fully see why. 2015 doesn't seem like that long ago to me and I'm old enough to know that people knew better then. Certainly better than the late 90's/early 00s when I somehow managed to navigate the internet without intentionally being racist 😬

I had the same issue for 2 yrs mostly in the morning but could be anytime of day if I was upset... many doctors and test later it was chalked up to anxiety! ... for a job I quit my DAILY smoking habit. Shortly after me getting sick daily stopped. I related it to happiness in my new job. Until I read an article about (CHS) Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome. Its worth at least looking into.. Also I'm now back to daily smoking with no issue. 3 months off did the trick for me.

About Brooke, I kinda sympathize with her and her apology because I also grew up influenced by my dad's political thoughts and it was when I started socializing outside my home and political bubble (between my 15-18s) that I chose another ideological path. Mind you, I never made those kinds of comments let alone post them on the internet and I'm not from USA so my controversial political thoughts were more right wing and not racist. But I understand the feeling of realizing that everything you have sucked up is an horrible opinion or outright lie. Especially when it comes from the family. I remember making comments against women's rights that I regret a lot, I just wanted to be on my dad's good side. If someone were to ask me today, at 27 years old, about the horrible comment I made when I was in high school I would tell them that I no longer think that way, but what else can I do? It's a lose-lose situation because I did say it and I can't prove that I've change my mind in a single conversation because you won't believe me. But I think Brooke has to be more responsible with her response now that she has an audience and literally is an influencer, I guess it will be a matter of looking at her current actions (and that's not looking so good) but I kinda believe she's not racist right now. It remains to be seen what time and her future behavior will tell.

Had to put my dog down due to a brain tumor. He was 14 years old and I loved him so much and I’ll miss him. Watching this show helps me so much, yall have no idea. Knowing what Ethan and Hila went through with Shredder and how we can just provide the best care for them when they are at the end of life and that’s all we can do. The canceled podcast has become one of my favorite pods because of brooke. So i really hate to say idk how i feel about her now... 19 is old enough to know that being racist is disgusting. People have been canceled for way less racism. i feel like people are giving her a pass. i want to honestly but idk.... It's wild how people are acting like she was just parroting her upbringing when these are some of the most disturbing racist tweets I have ever seen. It's not repeating words - it's active and intentional hate, for which she took joy in punching down from her position of white supremacy. This is so much worse than slurs - this was celebrating the death of innocent kids who were younger than her young age she uses to claim ignorance. So many people are raised in conservative homes and have to unlearn deep seeded biases, but this wasn't a microagression. She went out of her way to post celebration of hate crimes on a public platform. That's not ignorance, that's a choice she made multiple times with glee.

It's honestly kind of odd hearing some of the discourse surrounding unlearning racism on this show, like I'm constantly reminded that almost everyone on it grew up within the greater LA area and is definitely white (shout out mi hermano Nate). Not to say that the discussion is bad or that I think you guys have an invalid opinion but I'm always sitting there as a brown man sort of confused by the direction of the discussion. I think people online simultaneously lend too much credit and don't have enough patience for people in the process of unlearning racism. I was raised in a part of California that is predominantly Mexican but is still one of the top three most conservative cities in the state. I have heard many people, even at the UC I attend, share a similar sentiment of "oh I'm just gonna pretend to be liberal for the grade". Racism is not only just as prevalent within this generation as the one before, but also much more mask off since the Trump administration. People are shocked about Brooke's tweets, and rightfully so (that Zimmerman tweet almost guarantees her a spot in hell), but I feel that people equate the experience of an internet celebrity with that of rest of the population, I believe anyone of any demographic should be given the opportunity to reform, rehabilitate and to take accountability for their racist actions as long as they do so with consistency and the willingness to hear out minority voices. It's just that in situations like this I more often than not see people online relay the belief that reformation is impossible once you pass the age of like fifteen. I think the standard for this is held too high for everyone except influencers, but this also coming from a Mexican man who experiences racism and still has family and community that still harbor degrees of colorism and bigotry. It takes time but it's not impossible. I never usually comment but I don't know y'all are kinda old and white. Love the show though❤ Keep it up, proud of you.

The racism I saw in school was from gamer as well, except for the antisemitism that seemed to be something "normies" also entertained (white people and poc). However I agree with Blackswanontop - it shouldn't be normal to have a racist past. OLIVIA LOOK INTO TAKING AN ACID REDUCER DAILY (LIKE OMEPRAZOLE). a lot of people have genetically higher acid production. This can be especially bothersome in the morning before you've eaten anything, or right before you are going to eat when your stomach is producing extra bile for that food. 😊 It has helped several people in my life with similar anxiety/nausea.
The high school i went to just got in trouble last winter for the students chanting 'stole your land' at a basketball game against a school from a reservation. There's a lot more examples of younger people that are progressive at least visually online, which is good of course, but it's still way more prevalent than one may think.

As a Golden retriever owner I want to add not all of them are crazy high energy. My dog is so chill even as a puppy that I named her Indi (Indica) because she constantly has couch lock lol. There’s definitely a phenomenon of learned racism. That being said, it shouldn’t be treated as normal. It’s not normal, even though it happens quite frequently and in large areas and through full generations. Just because it happens a lot doesn’t mean it’s something normal. Of course she can change and evolve and I’m sure many many people escape their racist family and become better people. I guess it’s just different when it’s someone online because they have such an influence. Olivia!! I don't know if you will ever see this but the same thing was happening to me on Wellbutrin and Prozac. It got so bad that I was throwing up as soon as I would take my medication. I couldn't keep anything down. I had horrible acid reflux and also really bad dry mouth. Turns out it was the Wellbutrin. If you're taking Wellbutrin XL, especially along with other antidepressants, it can cause nausea and vomiting. I completely switched off because nothing was working even after talking to my Psychiatrist. BUT, her advice for coping with the symptoms was to eat frequent small meals. Our stomachs have a lot of serotonin receptors and so sometimes high doses of SSRI's can cause tummy issues. Eating a bunch of small meals frequently helps with slow release of the medication. Also, if you smoke nicotine and drink coffee that will aggravate the symptoms. Lastly Omeprazole was the only over the counter medicine that would even remotely work. It's basically just a antacid. I'll be honest, I thought and said stupid things too as a teenager, as a product of my environment, and my world views have evolved beyond recognition since my high school years because I've travelled, studied, lived in different places, and made an effort to meet people from other cultures. That said (for context, I'm 41) I had internet access when I was an isolated teenager in country Australia, and I didn't think once to use it to spread bigotry DESPITE coming from a pretty racist family background and culture in general. There was a level of comfort in her posting those memes publically that I find disturbing because there was INTENT to harm minorities in those posts - she KNEW that the people they targeted could and would see them. That says something about her character, not just her environment.
We're not just talking about stupid "jokes" she made in private among friends that she deeply regrets and would not make today. She actively participated in causing harm, and I think this is where the problem lies in people accepting an apology or trusting her moving forward. So-called "influencers" don't have an inherent RIGHT to a platform, and if people don't want to support her, I fully see why. 2015 doesn't seem like that long ago to me and I'm old enough to know that people knew better then. Certainly better than the late 90's/early 00s when I somehow managed to navigate the internet without intentionally being racist 😬

Shortly after me getting sick daily stopped. I related it to happiness in my new job. Until I read an article about (CHS) Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome. Its worth at least looking into.. Also I'm now back to daily smoking with no issue. 3 months off did the trick for me.

About Brooke, I kinda sympathize with her and her apology because I also grew up influenced by my dad's political thoughts and it was when I started socializing outside my home and political bubble (between my 15-18s) that I chose another ideological path.
Mind you, I never made those kinds of comments let alone post them on the internet and I'm not from USA so my controversial political thoughts were more right wing and not racist. But I understand the feeling of realizing that everything you have sucked up is an horrible opinion or outright lie. Especially when it comes from the family. I remember making comments against women's rights that I regret a lot, I just wanted to be on my dad's good side.
If someone were to ask me today, at 27 years old, about the horrible comment I made when I was in high school I would tell them that I no longer think that way, but what else can I do? It's a lose-lose situation because I did say it and I can't prove that I've change my mind in a single conversation because you won't believe me.
But I think Brooke has to be more responsible with her response now that she has an audience and literally is an influencer, I guess it will be a matter of looking at her current actions (and that's not looking so good) but I kinda believe she's not racist right now. It remains to be seen what time and her future behavior will tell.
I believe you. That’s horrifying, incredible of you to overcome that in you upbringing it must have been hard to and I’m proud of how you navigated it. Human beings are inherently good in my opinion, circumstances and environment def affect everyone. It's honestly kind of odd hearing some of the discourse surrounding unlearning racism on this show, like I'm constantly reminded that almost everyone on it grew up within the greater LA area and is definitely white (shout out mi hermano Nate). Not to say that the discussion is bad or that I think you guys have an invalid opinion but I'm always sitting there as a brown man sort of confused by the direction of the discussion. I think people online simultaneously lend too much credit and don't have enough patience for people in the process of unlearning racism. I was raised in a part of California that is predominantly Mexican but is still one of the top three most conservative cities in the state. I have heard many people, even at the UC I attend, share a similar sentiment of "oh I'm just gonna pretend to be liberal for the grade". Racism is not only just as prevalent within this generation as the one before, but also much more mask off since the Trump administration. People are shocked about Brooke's tweets, and rightfully so (that Zimmerman tweet almost guarantees her a spot in hell), but I feel that people equate the experience of an internet celebrity with that of rest of the population, I believe anyone of any demographic should be given the opportunity to reform, rehabilitate and to take accountability for their racist actions as long as they do so with consistency and the willingness to hear out minority voices. It's just that in situations like this I more often than not see people online relay the belief that reformation is impossible once you pass the age of like fifteen. I think the standard for this is held too high for everyone except influencers, but this also coming from a Mexican man who experiences racism and still has family and community that still harbor degrees of colorism and bigotry. It takes time but it's not impossible. I never usually comment but I don't know y'all are kinda old and white. Love the show though❤ Keep it up, proud of you.

I think its pretty obvious that the whole h3 platform needs to do a better job with approaching black injustice or racial injustice or overall racial tensive topics with care. Because honestly this is looking like a repeated scenario where something seems to miss the mark at least the first time when addressing these issues. And it gets kinda uncomfortable.
I feel like I have skip over these topics because I dont know where we are going with it. I'm not saying that anyone is bad but sometimes i feel like something is always not being considered and i don't know if its because a black person or a certain minority isnt in the room which is 😅 yea
Agreed! I skip a lot too! They need more melanin/poc representation in this podcast. I’m glad they have Nate now. I myself am Mexican, and there’s so many cringe and racist things Ethan has said that is brought to you as a joke, but still can be offensive and he doesn’t understand how that was offensive. It’s his yt priviledge and the surrounding people just normalizing those kinds of jokes; sadly Lena and AB always laugh and normalize his racista jokes too which is kinda confusing and cringe. ✌🏼

I agree with Love. Racism is doing well in gaming. The racism I saw in school was from gamer as well, except for the antisemitism that seemed to be something "normies" also entertained (white people and poc). However I agree with Blackswanontop - it shouldn't be normal to have a racist past. Kids do know better and some simply choose to not do better - because parents and teachers doesn't hold them accountable. Me and Love both were raised in Sweden during the same time in pretty close proximity to each other.
I want to believe that there are white teens who did not participate in racism and are actively anti-racist but of course I can't speak for them all, I can only speak for what I have done and am doing to be anti-racism

OLIVIA LOOK INTO TAKING AN ACID REDUCER DAILY (LIKE OMEPRAZOLE). a lot of people have genetically higher acid production. This can be especially bothersome in the morning before you've eaten anything, or right before you are going to eat when your stomach is producing extra bile for that food. 😊 It has helped several people in my life with similar anxiety/nausea.

The high school i went to just got in trouble last winter for the students chanting 'stole your land' at a basketball game against a school from a reservation. There's a lot more examples of younger people that are progressive at least visually online, which is good of course, but it's still way more prevalent than one may think.

As a Golden retriever owner I want to add not all of them are crazy high energy. My dog is so chill even as a puppy that I named her Indi (Indica) because she constantly has couch lock lol. The only time I see her hyped up is when she's on her way to daycare. I couldn't ask for a better dog, she's so smart, so well behaved, friendly as can be just the perfect dog.
Now compare that to the little dogs I have, they're constantly reeking havoc. Not very smart, hard to train, loud, nippy, hyper. After getting my golden (my first big dog) I don't think I'd ever get another small dog
