Thanks for this awsome guide! Easy to follow the weight reduction steps, and now my mouse feels better. Zowie are using really thick plastic, buildt like a tank!
Wtf dis should have more views! Great quality and i love the content. I wanted to see the inside of the mouse cause im going to replace the cable with a paracord. But after seeing this i think i want to clean mine too lol.
So are custom mice a hobby? I had no idea. What are the major advantages to customizing a mouse and what is the best pre-built to customize? I come from the keyboard world and would love to learn more about other custom peripherals, thanks!
They sure are a hobby! Customizing ranges from switch replacement for a different feel, painting the shell or complete shell swaps with the same mouse, better feet/skates to provide a more effortless and/or consistent glide on your mousepad, and cable replacement. Some people even make wired mice wireless by using the PCBs from other mice. Some advantages would be making an old favorite new again by replacing old or malfunctioning switches. Making a mouse lighter by reducing the weight is another option too. Probably the most common is switching out the stock cable with a more flexible paracord cable. Pretty much any mouse can be customized!
Nice video! What type of switches can I replace them with? Im interested in using sime chinese omrons but i dont know about the voltage this one operates.
I’m assuming you meant MORE weight? The base had some more areas where I could have drilled holes in or even removed sections altogether. I could have drilled holes on the top layer and maybe removed another 3-4g. Same thing for the sides. Obviously that went against my goal of having no visible holes. But I probably could’ve taken maybe close to another 8-10g off.
what's the name of the app you're using to test if all mouse buttons are working? Also, does lubing zowie scroll wheels with krytox 205g0 help reduce it's tactility?

I thought all mice have a single PCB, now I understand why Zowie mice are heavy, lol. Nice video
gpxs has 2 pcb, and 63 gram.

I would advise against Chinese Omrons. If you want something light, go for Japanese Omrons Or Huanos instead.
Hi where do you buy the Honeywell switches and the materials for making paracords? Thanks! Love the video, plan on doing the same with my S2.
I bought them from AliExpress but it seems they're no longer available. Paracord was bought from ParacordGalaxy and the cable from Amazon.
Damn I need that done
imainge gpxs build quality and performance, but ec2 shape. my end game.
How could u have removed less weight? I'm planning to do this with my zowie s2

Lubing the scroll wheel helps with dampening the sound and it does slightly reduce the tactility.
