Thanks avi! Well, I don't know how right this is, but I'm all about moderation. Loop knob is about noon, gmajor input/output around noon. Deuce clean channel eq settings all between 10:00-2:00. Middle of the road seems to work for me. Thanks for listening :)
Thanks! The mic setup was, well... the camcorder. Yeah, doesn't really do it justice I know. Haven't quite figured out how to sync recording video with the camera and sound in Sonar on the PC. You're right. The Stiletto would make a very nice complement to the RK especially if you use the 6L6 settings.
I forgot to add that the cleans on it are better than most British made amps out there. I personally run mine more like a single channel amp for both channels, with breakup, but whenever I need cleans, I turn down the volume of my guitar. You can still get very nice cleans from the fat clean and tite clean modes. I use my Roadster head more for that Fender type clean, but fatter sounding...
Hey there, killer playing. I have that same Stiletto deuce and G major set up also. I love your clean sound. Would you mind sharing some pointers on how to dial that in as far as g major settings, amp settings (loop knob setting, etc.) Thanks
well the recto does have an el34 switch on the back. buy which ever one sounds good to you man. ive got the stiletto and i play in a metalcore band and a hip hop band. not to mention its cheaper used than a dual rec.
Your playing is tighter than two coats of paint, very well done sir. What's the mic setup on this video? The high-gain stuff sounds really thing but I'm sure its just the mic setup... the cleans sounded great! Trying to convince a band mate to buy one of these amps... i'm on a road king and he is looking for something a little less gainy and a lot more EL34 ish.
all of "my favorite bands" use their stage amps in the studio. i like consistency, i don't want songs that i play live to sound really different from my studio recordings because i'm using a different amp. and similarly, i don't want my next EP or CD to sound nothing like my last one guitar tone wise. i just like saying, i use "insert gear here", and not, "i have a standard amp for the stage, but 12 different boutique amps in the studio so i sound 'better'"
thehoeser: i believe if im correct your looking for a 'less gainy' amp with more of an EL34 to boot? I purchased the CARVIN V3 halfstack with celestion vintage 30's and just inder 1800 with shipping to alaska i love the price. The sound is tight and focused but with so many options and switches that add so many textures to it. Im not here to do a sales pitch just check out the carvin v3. its way versatile than alot of amps ive tried(alaska has alot more amps than one would think) v3 mightbeit
is this as "brit" sounding as described? it's hard to tell from youtube + not playing it next to a VOX or Marshall. i've been known for my Marshall tones because of my JCM 900 4100 but i've been looking to get a Mesa and since this one runs EL34s, i'm really considering it. Will i be able to retain some brit tone with this so it's not a drastic change from my amp? I trust Mesa, but having used my Marshall on all my recordings, i don't want my future recordings to sound completely different
Nice and that sustained notes sounded like the leads on a Mark IV, thanks so much for the video.
That clean tone is awesome. I miss that amp. cheers, Lucius
Thanks Kevin! I appreciate the feedback and glad you liked :)

Definitely Brit sounding. If you not picky like having to get a Marshall tone down 100% (it won't for obvious reasons), then you are gold...
Nice sticks! And your playing....you make-ah mee SEEEEEK!
The cabinet is home made! Solid Cherry with a pair of vintage (early '80's) G12-65 speakers.

just a smoking dem thank you very much
awesome, thanks!
Are you asking about the guitar? If so, it's an Ibanez S540 with Floyd Rose trem, modified with Evolution pups in bridge and neck.
Thank you, and yes ;-)
U play good dude

@originalskankster131 why not? most of your favorite bands probably tried loads of setups in recordings..why limit yourself?
im assuming you made that cab yourself? what kind of speakers you got in there? Vintage 30s?
fucking sustaaaaaaain!!!!!!!!!!!
