I use UK crochet terminology in the video, which differs from US terminology. I know the video is quite fast. I posted this 5 years ago when longer videos weren't encouraged on the platform. Thank you for your feedback, but I can't change the speed of the tutorial 5 years after posting it.
I used this tutorial last year to make poppies and sold them for $5 a piece and donated all the money to a local Legion which is a veterans association here in Canada. I'm a bit slow to production this year but ill do my best. Thanks so much for your simple tutorial, I had to come back this year to refresh my memory!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial. I’m a knitter who has barely any crochet knowledge, I watched it for the first time yesterday night, and I’ve made 13 poppies so far. I only stopped to 😴 and go to work this morning 🙂. The steps are easy to remember, and I was crocheting on my journey to and fro work. I love the resulting poppies so much I’m going to make many more. I hope the recipients love them as much too.
Thank you so much! I searched for an easy pattern and got lost within the first few seconds on everyone's videos (I'm just a beginner!) - but yours was so easy to follow! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. I have tried several poppies and yours is the best. Looks lovely. I shall make them for next year. Your video was very easy to follow. Thank you
Hey Robin! Can you tell me what the name of the pattern designer is on Ravelry. I'm much better at reading patterns than a video, although this video was a great guideline. I wish this video had written instructions too. I love how this one looks
This is the best looking poppy I've ever seen! I watched the video but I still had trouble making it. I'm not very good at crochet. Do you have an written instructions for this pattern? Help. :)
Love this pattern. Could you please when filming have camera focussed on work. As you work, the piece moves out of frame, and you can't see what's happening. Otherwise...thanks for sharing.
I love this poppy but I’m a beginner and the video is too quick for me to really see what you are doing so I look at the written instructions and I’m still confused. It’s different than what you say you are doing in the video. I also don’t know if I’m suppose to single crochet or double crochet in the black?
@@thecornerofcraft thank you...I completely understand that is why I was asking. Thank you for answering. The poppy is lovely so i definitely will give it a try. 😊
Way too fast how do we slow it down. You have 8 sc so are we adding each poppy leaf into 2 stitches. Beautiful poppy though xx hope you re-do this one x
+Flora Arbuckle The written pattern is in the description box so you can follow along with that and the video. I filmed this tutorial a while ago and my editing style has improved since, sorry this is so rushed! x
Thank you so much for this tutorial Hanna! I am having so much fun! My poppy has a hole in the middle, what's the best way to void getting a whole in the middle should I make the stitches looser?
+Mamoona Zeb Mine has a slight hole in the middle too. You do need to make sure the first chain isn't too loose. You could always use the magic circle technique and that'll guarantee no hole in the middle :)
I am very happy with the result except I had to stop the video a few times to catch up. I am going to make them and give them away. Thanks for sharing.
As I was following a written pattern, I didn’t want to infringe on them. I link the pattern, if you would like the written instructions ☺️ As for the black yarn, that was a complete oversight! Sorry about that 💕 x
This is the best looking poppy I've ever seen! I watched the video but I still had trouble making it. I'm not very good at crochet. Do you have an written instructions for this pattern?
Is it possible to so this a bit slower? If you did a couple of complete stitches at normal speed before you speed up the video us newbies could see what you are talking about. I really like the poppy but I (like the others below me) can't follow along. thanks for listening.
hi great tutorial but top part of screen cut off and obscured with your hand, perhaps try different angle with camera and could you slow down with speaking, way too fast. Thank you.
Hello! I recorded this at a time that I wasn't allowed to have super long vids on RUclips! I linked the site to the original pattern in the description box, as I explained in the video :) x
She has a crochet playlist that have videos on the basics of crochet. I learned to crochet from her so i think u would be able to as well. There explained in very good detail. :)
Luckily I have linked the pattern I used in the description box. This was posted at a time when longer videos were discouraged and sadly I can't do a whole lot about the speed of the video now, 5 years later 😅 x

Thank you. I like the way the edges of the petals curl slightly.

just followed your video, my poppy turned out great. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much :) x
This was absolutely brilliant tutorial. Well explained and easy to follow.
I have made loads of poppies ready for remembrance day. They are really easy to do. 😊
Awesome! Thanks from Ontario Canada!
Thank you, Hannah! I found the same pattern on Ravelry, but it had been so long since picking up my hook, I needed the visual as a refresher. Cheers!
You're more than welcome! I hope your memory was sufficiently refreshed :P

Thank you, I made one and it has come up lovely! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💜
Thanks for this great tutorial! It was so easy and quick, I whipped it up real fast. :D
Well done for advising donations 🤓👍❤️🙌
thx for this very simple poppy pattern. much appreciated
Ann Bray You're most welcome :) Sometimes it doesn't benefit anyone by over-complicating things! x
A old video but so useful! Thank you from Canada ❤
May-Ann F.M how to knit a poppy
The poppy looks easier than one I tried earlier. I will try this one. 😊

Hello. Thanks so much for this fabulous pattern. The link for the written pattern doesn't seem to be working. Is there a new link? Thanks again. 🙂
Muy bonito todo lo que haces!! Te felicito!!

What is the North American version of "double knit" wool? Judging from the hook size, I'm guessing it's something like finger or baby weight??
D Kirkby I believe it's worsted weight yarn x

Aw thanks for the reponse honey. Am i right in saying that each leaf is hooked on over two stitches as you go round xx
Thank for this tutorial!

There's nothing wrong with pausing the video :) I have to speed it up otherwise it would be a very long video!
I've had many compliments on the poppy. Thank you for sharing.
not sure why she used black yarn on a demo - can't really see what's going on. it would be nice if directions were written.
As I was following a written pattern, I didn’t want to infringe on them. I link the pattern, if you would like the written instructions ☺️ As for the black yarn, that was a complete oversight! Sorry about that 💕 x
could you do a slower beginners version please
sarah stone I have videos for each of the stitches in my Crochet Basics playlist :) x

But coulg u do the video abit slower xxxx
hi great tutorial but top part of screen cut off and obscured with your hand, perhaps try different angle with camera and could you slow down with speaking, way too fast. Thank you.
It would have been easier to follow had she SLOWED DOWN and did a better job of STAYING IN FRAME. Also, written instructions would be nice.

Could you go slower and please show the 3 treble stitches!
to fast for new beginnings
For a beginner this is incredibly fast can’t catch what you are doing
Nice video but kept going of camera so hard to follow
