    the bow limb should be thinner at the end so you should but less number of layer of ticks at the end, otherwise the bow is bending only at the middle. it should also be pre tended.

    The string you used was totally unsuitable, it had visibly become slack and started to fray. Some thicker nylon fishing line would be more suitable.

    I can't see this holding up for very long. Even with the first shot the sticks didn't spring back completely. You might say that the materials are cheap and easy to get hold of, but so is a solid piece of wood for the stock and a hacksaw blade for the limbs. The design can still be pretty much the same, but i can assure you that you'll get heck of a lot more power and durability.
    Nice project anyway.

    if you add another trigger system to the bottom like how normal crossbows are built and then tie a string from top trigger to bottom trigger, when you fire the bottom one it will pull the top one down like how you did it in the video which should release the top trigger so that way you can hold it more comfortably. basically it just makes it easier to hold and makes it look more like a real crossbow

    Hmmm... I see that it isn't enough to pierce cardboard...
    Pretty cool though.
    I wonder a bit though... is it possible to make a crossbow strong enough to pierce iron plate but small enough to be hidden somewhere in clothing without being annoying...

    • @trumpatier

    • @but531
      @but531 7 лет назад +1

      Why you make this question ? This crossbow is home made and is made for play in the house it's not made for races. If you want long shoot or you want to hunt or you want to race, buy a professional crossbow. If you want to know how far you can shoot , just make this crossbow and make test with different material arrows and you will see different result everytime.
