SO Strange! im blown away! I Live in Gloucester, yet my knowledge of ocean navigation is sub par. I must thank you to the moon and back for your effort making these videos. I have learned more in 5 videos then my past 26 years.
Just wanted to say, I just passed my chief mate/master unlimited tonnage exam and I used your videos religiously to help me, so thank you so so so much!
Hello Vladimir, indeed, using a Starfinder or other tool will rely on orienting the device on a certain bearing to help you determine what star you observe. It can be tricky when partly cloudy especially.
I currently live in the DC area (Northern Va). Are you by chance going to be doing in person tutoring? I currently studying for my 3rd Mate unlimited and looking for a tutor.
Keep em coming... I’m fascinated with celestial navigation, especially how old school sailors figured it out. 👍
