Here is what seats will bolt in to a Ranger:
    Tempo/Topaz
All years. Tempo GT's are the nicest. Tilting "pillow" headrest and frequently power lumbar.
    Escort/Lynx
1981-1991? GT's again are the nicest, "Halo" style headrest, sometimes power lumbar.
(The 'Halo' Buckets in the TRS-2 Ranger are from an Escort GT)
    Mustang
Don't bother looking they will be gone when you get there. If you're lucky, look for Mustang GT's. Also halo style headrests on GTs.
    Thunderbird
1982-1988, Turbocoupe has nicest seats same as Mustang GT but with tilting "pillow" head rests, almost always power-lumbar, adjustable thigh support, adjustable side bolsters on base. The best factory ford seat (IMHO).
    1986 Merkur XR4TI
The front seats from an 86 Merkur XR4TI will fit in a B2, so I assume rangers too, If you drill out the rivets, and swap the brackets from the tracks, 1/2 hour per, the seats I used gave me height adjust, adjustable headrest, lumbar support, much better lateral support, (no more bouncing out of the seatbelt) and they're heated. (Submitted by Merc)
All of these will bolt directly to your factory tracks if you have either Buckets or split-bench.
If you have a conventional bench then you will need to replace your tracks with split-bench/bucket-seat tracks. (Toss your solid bench tracks they are completely different).
You will have to run a Tap through some pre drilled holes in the bottom of the seat frames. The holes are already there but unthreaded.
If you have a conventional cab Ranger you will probably have to use the "halo" style headrest used in Mustangs and Escort GT models, as the pillow style will hit the rear window. This forces the seat back into a very upright position. (and is EXTREMELY uncomfortable)
If you have a Supercab Ranger or a Bronco2 headrest clearance isn't an issue.
One other word of warning Ranger Standard-cab, Ranger Supercab and Bronco II's all have different floor pan profiles and so use different seat tracks, so if you want to put buckets or a split-bench into a std cab Ranger you must get your seat tracks out of a std cab Ranger.

Thank-you for the video. I have seen other conversions on youtube, but I think they overcomplicated the swap. Your idea of swapping out seat tracks seems easier.

Seems easy enough, you think it would be hard to mount an aftermarket bucket to the bracket?

Nice video. When removing the driver's seat you disconnected a wire connector located near the console on the floor. What is that wire for? Thanks!

That’s the seat belt sensor to tell the light to turn off when you buckel up

Seriously? I try and bite my lip, as people of every skill level need information and help. But, my dude, you don't even know what/why you are working on. They are "bench seats".. Ya know, like a park bench.. Make sense? Also, you didn't do the power portion because you say you don't have power. Did you bother to look? The harness you had in your hand is an excellent source for 12v. Ford is King of making all of their parts work for more than one vehicle/application. That's how they stay profitable. Did you notice buckets out of a sports car just bolted right up to an economy pickup? That's no accident. Does make me wonder why anyone would need instructions? You simply unbolted and bolted back in. Back to the wiring though.. Ford makes one look for all of a certain vehicle and it is capable of running all of the options available, whether they are utilized or not. Even if you didn't have a super easy way to wire it, it's still possible. So to make this video is actually hurting people instead of hurting them. See what I'm saying? You're teaching people that if it isn't a direct plug & play install don't bother, it "can't" be done. Sure it can! Just takes work and know how. That would be a good video! Figure some shit out and actually customize before you put instructional vids up, please. This was a huge waste of my time. Looked to see how many people agree with me.. and. 13 thumbs up & not one down?! For what?! We are Fucking doomed as a nation. No drive, no thinking for yourself, no progress = failure/slow death SMH

Zac, seriously. The title says "Ford Ranger seat swap" and that's what he did. Yes he had a power harness in his hand and could have figured out how to wire the 'swapped" seats. He may not be as experienced or technically advanced as you or I. But, he got the job done. Never once did he claim to be an expert. And you shouldn't knock someone for trying to do things there way. He didn't pay anyone to put the seats in, he didn't watch someone do it for him, he did it. The key is he DID improve and accomplish what he promised. And maybe with little encouragement and more experience he will be able to truly customize and properly install seats or other items in the future. Not going to go on a political rant about how I agree that the world of Metrosexual SoyBoys cant do anything but whine and cry, instead of actually doing something about it.
