Sure is a good lookin' watch! I too wish they'd update their interface.....I had the Grit X years ago and it looks identical. Thanks for the update on this! Great review as usual!
I won’t even consider buying another Polar watch until they refresh the UI. It isn’t intuitive and it’s just so boring and old! Refreshed technology is all well and good but if the interface is the same as it was ten years ago, it’s like eating whatever sort of bland, unpalatable slop they serve in Russian gulags for every meal, day after day.
As a former Polar superfan I agree with your opinion about the interface feeling outdated. Flipped to Garmin a bit over a year ago and staying here. There are many things I like about Polar, just not enough to keep me intrigued about their products.
I don't think it's viable to make comparisons between watches without taking into consideration the wider platforms. Flow looks dated but I think it's a great tool for training (long distance running). Garmin have more bells and whistles and Polar is expensive but I think watch + flow (+ Komoot) = a great toolset for marathon training and longer.
Great review, I'm glad to see some innovation on the optical HRM side. Not sure what they strategy is with the price, it's too bad because Polar seems to finally bring new innovative features. But yes with AMOLED, they need more ui updates.
I actually like that polar looks at overall activity and not just steps alone. Sometimes you just can’t go for a walk but you can ride a bike. Why miss your daily steps even when you did a 1hr zone 2 ride. Garmin should buy polar and end this misery lol
Great review as always!! The watch looks great, I’d probably get the stainless steel one for the price. But which watch do you think is best considering price quality and ease of use. Polar, Suunto Vertical or the Epix 2pro?
I don't get why people are all saying polar lost me in the price, Garmin watches are way more expensive. Also the interface, I like it bc it has very good overview. Don't like the Garmin watches with all flashy colors on the screen, you almost dont know where to look.
Des, how do you think the titanium or stainless steel bezels will hold up to scratches and 24/7 wear? Garmin's titanium scratches very easily and the Polar V3 is aluminium and suffers from the same issue. I have been wearing the V1 for the past 4/5 years and the bezel looks brand new, so a bit hesitant about getting the V3 so the GX2Pro is tempting.
Great video! As a G-Shock enthusiast I think it would be incredible for an expert like you to test the GPR-H1000 and give us your point of view, is it on par with the Garmin or is it far behind? Thanks and regards.
is it just me noticing Polar always falls short on distance compared to other brands when running or cycling out in the forrest? Can someone please confirm? My current polar watch are always some hundreds of meters off from my friends Garmins and Suuntos... Looks like I'm switching to Garmin but I really like the astetics of the new polar grit x2 pro🙄
Brave man wearing a decently expensive watch for kettlebell work. At least on the Polar side, a band like the Verity Sense is really nice and gets out of the way.
this watch is VERY good looking. however i wish they had a different interface.. maybe remove the old interface and replace with a white background to start with
Likely one of many comments on this watch, starting on the design side. The size of the black bezel around the screen looks to be almost a quarter of an inch. Not that Garmin in comparison doesn’t have the same issue, but manufacturers can do better. Shrink that down and give us more screen real estate. Apple is probably best here on the AWU in comparison.
It may be just me but I can't see many people choosing this over the garmin epix or the suunto race. To me it just isn't special. Epix is the best and Race is the value for money and fresh designed. Grit x2 is just nowhere to be seen.
So I had them for 5 days and when every day it rose the number of steps by 600-700 just in the time I am drove 20 minutes in the car...or sat at the computer in the office (where the competition won't take a step at me, so with Polar it jumps by hundreds)...that's it completely outside .... Polar really disappointed me!!!!
why Garmin has any? Dont tell about this fake Fenix solar chargning ring. I have the Fenix 7 Pro and doesnt increase or helps the battery at all. Saything this as i leave in a mediteranian country where the sun is always here 300 days per year. I agree that the watch is expensive. Solar is not a feature on any watch at the moment especially with an OLED display.

Whoa Matt, again!? That's amazing - much appreciated! 🙏
Had mine for a week and like it. The flow app is good and the sleep recording has flagged up a problem with my sleep. Dr now agrees too. 👍
Thanks for the in-depth review! Honestly it’s a more attractive option than I was expecting.
Sure thign!

Fantastic video mate ❤ The watch looks excellent tbf, a massive jump up from its predecessor 🔥
Thanks, man!

Counting steps when biking is insane. I can’t believe they said it’s intentional 😮

6:00 It´s not just you, Des 😅
Great review does the watch have save locations
The industrial design certainly looks cool. (Though the compass cardinal direction details on the bezel make no sense.)

Any chance you can test and make an video of the new payment wristband from polar? Worth buying?
Amazing video! Thanks 🙏🏽 But I use Garmin Forerunner 965. Should I switch to this watch? I am a road and trail runner. I always like innovations
The 965 has more capabilities than this watch so you’re good to go
this watch is VERY good looking. however i wish they had a different interface.. maybe remove the old interface and replace with a white background to start with
For the sake of argument, if the price were heavily reduced would you consider it a halfway decent watch or is it still simply not worth it?
Yeah I think my next upgrade will be a Garmin 7XproMIP at that price. You better have a flashlight when you start asking for 800 bones.

For a watch at this price, the software should be way more fluid. It seems so choppy when you're scrolling between different screens.

Nice looking watch. In the end, they all end up being an advertisement of why you just go with Garmin.
Hello, can we charge it with an external battery? THANKS
It charges via a USB C charging cable that can be used with any USB C power source such as a battery.
no music storage capability killed it for me
The bezel of the previous model was way prettier, the new sucks.
Polar lost me at the price
@@pe3117They have to equal or one up the Garmin lineup in and around this price point. As such, Polar still has a ways to go.

Amoled and price... skip.
No solar charging for $900? Nope.

I doubt we’ll see solar on amoled watches. Advances in processor efficiency and battery life will likely outdo drip charging from the sun.
@@astasuleo Garmin has plenty, you are clearly doing it wrong.
make it short, purchase a garmin!
