I was actually surprised that you can regain your empty home base without a challenge. In the original Eon rules (which I've always used -- daveola.com/CosmicEncounter/Rules/Eon.Rules.pdf), there was no such rule. You either had to wait until somebody had a base there, or play Rebirth. Also, I must be weird, because I thought of 1&5 for Amazon (Amazonian rainforest responsible for much of the coffee in the world)
One party lying with a Negotiate offer is perfectly fine and acceptable in our games. It's actually hilarious when both sides lie and reveal Attack cards instead.
Does anyone know the musical video that Tom apparently showed everyone else before this that made them start in the mood for singing everything? I already had to watch "part of your world" after Zee started up . . .
Sam seems like he just doesn't want to be here. Maybe he warms up as the game goes on? In the beginning, he just seems like a bad sport and not the kind of person I'd want to play a game with.
haha, i thought the same, but then again as much as i love cosmic encounter and may just not be his thing and actually holds back a little for the sake of others
I thought you could only have 4 ships on your planets, yet in the first encounter where Zee looses his home colony and Jason has to put his ships in the warp, because of the evil twin effect, Zee puts his four ships on each remaining home planets...I've never seen the evil twin before so I don't know if it states that you can have as many ships on your planets as you want or not... can someone explain?
you start with 4 I played a game with my family last week, after a mobious tubes was laid down i had 17 ships on one planet.. I Was like YEAH some one attack this TOWER! Oh - and the funny thing was, there was a 5 player shared win"attacking my "tower" and i lost by one after alliances and cards were played!
I found that this game is really hard to play with new people, the rules are too much for them. You need a constant group of people to play it as it is supposed to! So I sold mine + 3 expansions and protectors for 90$ , then i saw that in Ebay it is much more expensive, because of some reason :D :D
"Let's oppress the small, nightmarish man." My favorite line from Mr. Garcia.

Tom is right, those dials were an extreme pain to put together and were not easy. Required a lot of brute strength.
I ended up tapping them in with a hammer. lol.
Funny, until I watched the vid, I thought the "Also, Yessss!" part of the title was just Tom being so happy to get a new expansion for Cosmic!
Derek is a wonderful addition to your live plays. Thank for you doing more of these, especially another play of Cosmic!
The sides of a ladder are the rails, so zee was right about the only two cards that actually have legs!
You guys missed the nanny's final part that allows you to collect any negotiate other players discard...
Thank you for the live play! Love these.

this is one of our favorite games! Awesome to see y'all playing it!
You guys do a very good job with your play throughs. Personally, you guys put out the best, at least on cosmic.
Thank you!
Thank you Mitchell, Dice Tower is one of the original inspirations for our series and where we first learned of Cosmic Encounter.
I just watched the whole video and I loved the singing and Jason's "Columbia is mostly known for coffee not balls" ;-)
Thanks for leaving a lot of time at the end, making the final round unpredictable

12:08 Kabuki's first swing of the ban hammer? 🔨🔨🔨 😂

You missed nanny's final part that allows you to collect any negotiate other players discard. It would have helped the power get used more often.
Yeah, I realized that after we shutdown the stream. I've gotten so used to passing the bottom-most text on Alien Powers as fluff.
Derek Porter Good thing you realized it later but I kinda wanted to see timeouts lol
I guess I'll have to wait for my own copy to arrive :)
So much fun ... more please!
an early sighting of Zeevil!
Aw man, the Bears fan crack ......... :( I love that Sam is all Chicago sports. :)
Cosmic Encounters: the game that breaks up families and friendships
Is it just me or is the audio so much out of sync with the video it looks really weird?
it got fixed at 2:40
The spread of nannies!! Hahaha.
Why are the ships so pretty and shiny? Were they painted?
Yup
Am I the only one experiencing a sound delay? I know that it can happen with YT.
There is at the start but they sort it out around the 3 minute mark.
okay taking nightmare out of my copy. it's like a game breaking version of animal.

...and yeah... Great to see you guys playing Cosmic, by far my favorite game. Thanks for the live play :)
Nope, that's always allowed. When you send ships to defend, for example, and they come back, you can put them anywhere.
you start with 4

Salty Sam at the beginning of this game. "That doesn't seem like fun."

Sam, do seagulls poke on your head? :-) Not fun!
krzessu 49 times..it was 49 times :^)
Wurschtbieb Well, I guess we all have a chicken duck woman thing waiting for us ;-)
Thanks for the live play! I love watching these, and I was glad to see Sam win.

I’ve found that the way you teach the game greatly affects how well new people take to the game
