the cable thing is weird and kills that slick aspect, it should be shorter and on the downside of the screen and why not a spring style cable like it used to be

As a software developer I could actually see this being useful. Little pricey, but would definitely help out when I have to work without my monitors.

Should be integrated into a regular laptop. Slightly thicker laptop screens but unfolds into a triple monitor setup without any cables.
I've had this for about a year now on my windows laptop and it's absolutely fantastic for design and editing.
When you have no problem financially, basically you forgot if the price is low or high..

No, no it is not. Only if it was a highly powerful electro-magnet. Most consumer level magnets will do nothing to a standard hard drive and pretty much no magnet will do anything to an SSD (which is what most notebook computers have in them these days...).
My main concern would be that it's oriented to the right side and mice are optimized for right-hand usage. I want to see whether or not it can be flipped upside down for a left-hand monitor

Sliding screens, can be used whenever needed. When not in use, other screen will stay inside.

That is because the Moft stand was installed without this extra weight in mind. If that stand were to be reinstalled, a little offset could do wonders for stability.

Magnets can trigger the hall sensors in the laptop giving you a black screen. It thinks the lid is closed. Strong magnets can also damage the hall sensors so the display never turns on again. I've got two dead macbooks with broken hall sensors because i carried strong magnets in the same bag.

Your screen hinges probably can't take carrying extra weight. Some hinges break in a couple of years without an extra screen attached to them.

I travel for work, and hate using just my laptop screen. So I bought the ASUS ZenScreen Touch MB16AMT, and it’s awesome! Works with my work windows laptop and my own MB Pros, touch screen, and will work in landscape and portrait.

I think we are all forgetting that the MacBook Pro supports 2 screens with the iPad. I forgot the name of the feature but it is one of the selling points in the website.
A very nice idea but the problem is they should’ve added some kind of stand so that the weight of it wasnt carried by the laptop itself. Might destroy the integrity of the laptop hinge. Just my opinion.

For the most part, no.
You'd need a very powerful magnet with an alternating field to mess with a drive, those little magnets have a better change of messing with your read switch (depending on where it is in your laptop) causing sleep state issues. (my brother can use a magnetic charge cable on his tablet as it trips the case closed sensor)

Screen drains battery.
You also need to use it on a table which defeats the purpose of it being mobile.
If you use it on your lap like on plane etc... it wobbles way too much and falls often.
It’s good if you don’t own a second monitor and want to use it in your home office or work desk, otherwise better off getting a second stationary monitor since this requires you to be on a desk.
Great concept but as always, 1st gens can be flimsy.
