The cat is reasonably fast, but is let down by its shorter legs compared to the bigger animals. Would like to see the Cougar in a similar race, if it has the same speed as the cat, but would be considerably faster due to its bigger size and longer legs compared to its smaller "cousin".

Teena Mulder But with that said very few dogs are any where close to a greyhound in speed. And I can't imagine Rottweilers being THAT fast even without looking it up. Rottweilers have a lot of mass which would slow it down. Plus they were mostly breed for herding and guarding than say a Coyote which lives by hunting and is a lot leaner. Looking it up and I'm right top speed for a Rottweiler seems to be 25 mph (40km/h) and a Coyote gets up to 43 mps (69km/s)

Funny thing about humans running is that despite our slower speed, our body is designed for endurance. A human can run longer(not faster) than almost any animal, making the human body one of the most efficient machines ever made by nature.

The M 25 CARTER First off, calm your rude self, secobdly, OP is correct. Humans were known for "endurance hunting" where we would run behind animals for days at a time until they gave up and died. Cheetas sprint, they don't run long distance. Humans can run for hours without stopping.
