No disagreement here. Vacation #1 is my favorite all time Chase film but that’s just pure entertainment level. As far as acting goes Chase’s best performance was Funny Farm. I think his performance in this film is as good as anything Robin Williams or Steve Martin would have done in their prime. I know after Chase made flops like Nothing but Trouble and his failed talk show but he was a fine comedic actor here. He says it’s his favorite of his own movies and there is a reason for it. Chases best acting to date.
I would love that and there should be no reason for them not to now. It wasn’t a huge hit when it was in theaters but whenever I ask someone now if they have seen Funny Farm who likes Chase in the Vacation movies I always get the same response which is “oh yeah that’s a classic.” It seems people like it as much if not more than any of his Vacation films which made more money. It has grown enough in popularity that I agree I would love to see a Kino Lorber version with commentaries and some deleted scenes if possible.
Im a Chevy Chase fan i have this movie on DVD now. Bobby is awesome interviewer thanks for sharing this.
I'm Team Chevy Chase All The Way,I Have So Many Of His Movie's,This One Is My Favorite
