I'm so glad you managed to get back to see your dad. My father became ill with cancer last Oct, and passed last month. We are both British citizens and I live in Germany, and couldn't get permission to come to see him, likely due to out of control Corona in Europe. Im now trying again to get entry in order to settle his affairs as his next of kin, but it's not so easy. Im vaccinated so am going to hope that, plus quarantine/any other requirements they wish me to do, plus me being in my own home, own car (so not staying with others) will be a low enough risk for them to approve this time. Hi Xennial, I entered Malaysia on Tuesday 20th April and found your info very useful.....a big thank you for that! A couple of things that I would like to add - 1) The airport internet is easy to connect to 2) Setting up the MySejahtera app is stressful as the airport internet is not the best and mine failed several times. The guards do help which was nice. Make sure you have your passport handy as you will need to enter your number AND your hotel address and postcode. 3) At checkpoint 1, after the bus, you will be given a card with a lanyard for scanning at each checkpoint. 4) The folder of papers is an excellent idea. Don't use a ring binder! Mine had a quick release catch and I had fun showing all the desks how to use it. The individual stations will go through your folder anyway to see if there are more papers that they require. 5) have a ball pen handy as you will need it at checkpoint 3 6) for the immigration, there will be a desk directly in front of you. They will ask for your passport and visa documents. They will take these away for processing and direct you to sit down. You will be called when yours is processed. 7) Once you have been called you will then be directed to an immigration counter as per usual entry. All in all, everyone was very pleasant and good humoured and the experience wasn't too bad.

Thanks for sharing this. Very helpful and also emotional towards the end. I’m so glad you got to spend that precious time with him. Do you mind sharing your email or some way I could direct msg you? I have specific questions about your process which is similar to mine. Let me know , thanks.
You can message me on Instagram @matthewseow or you'll find me in the Malaysia Quarantine Support Group on Facebook that I mention (link in the vide description).
Btw - you can just ask your question here. That might help others who might be in the same situation.
Yikes no way I am travelling until this is all over.
Probably a good move unless you really have to, or you find somewhere safe enough. Best to get vaccinated ASAP!
Hi, I had similar exigencies as yours. I need your guidance please do help. How do I reach you personally? Would really appreciate your assistance.
You can find me on a Instagram @matthewseow.
bro how much are the charges for staying in this hotel for seven days? i want to know please tell me because Im coming in summer
Hey - please refer to my Part 2 video - specifically on quarantine in Hotel Istana. Info on the price I paid (directly to the hotel) is in the description of that video: ruclips.net/video/x-5UwyYJn84/видео.html
Can you travel right now from Canada? Thanks. Hope your dad is doing better!
If you mean can foreign nationals enter Malaysia, then still no - all foreign nationals still require special permission to enter Malaysia. The COVID-19 situation has worsened again recently. Unfortunately my dad passed away soon after I got to Malaysia, but it was good to see him for a last goodbye. Thanks for your thoughts.
@@XennialTraveller oh no, im so sorry for your loss. My partner and I are from Canada; the situation here is similar also. The only difference is its cold here and warn there... so with lockdowns i thought i rather be in the sun than the cold lol... but i guess the reality of everything is starting to sink in. Hopefully this is over soon. Anyways thanks for making awesome youtube videos and my deepest condolences .
@@contactdmedici4196 Thanks for your kind thoughts. Hope it's going well there - I hear that vaccinations are progressing quite well, so hopefully somewhat of a normal life is close for you guys :)
Can I smoke inside the hotel?
Unfortunately no - I believe this is for all quarantine hotels. I think the only way to be allowed is to find a hotel with balcony. Best to search in the MQSG on Facebook to find such a hotel.
Thank you but I want to ask you can I stay in the room with my friend . That is possible or not ?
@@omartareq9612 I believe it is not allowed unless it is a married couple.
Can I pay my quarantine and hotel charges in airport after arrival?
You can if you're Malaysian. Non Malaysians have to prepay on the MySafeTravel (MyEG) portal before flying.
How much do you need to pay for the quarantine bro?
Standard Package (no choice of hotel - allocated on arrival) is RM150/night x 7 or 10 nights. Premium Package prices vary according to hotel. Please refer to the Part 2 video where all the info is in the description and pinned comment. :) ruclips.net/video/x-5UwyYJn84/видео.html
@@XennialTraveller is this per person? Or sharing with family members during quaratine at the hotel is possible?
@@marthamartha6468 Per room (based on single occupancy), but sharing of anyone besides married couples require specific permission. I believe if sharing there is a supplement to pay if more than 1 person in the room since they will provide extra food
do you still reply here? ive a query
Yes, but my knowledge may be outdated now. The MQSG Facebook group is probably better. But I’ll try?
@@XennialTraveller what is a person supposed to do if, by accident, their quarantine wristband gets damaged?
@@saadatshameem7776 Just tell the APM KKM or whoever is stationed in your quarantine station. I don’t think it’s a big issue?
@@XennialTraveller Alright, thanks a lot!!

No one knows. Anyone who tells you they do, unfortunately is not truthful. You'll have to wait until there is an announcement. After which you should be able to find it on news websites.
