Rabbi Sacks - I know you are not with us here but your light continues to shine. As a Christian I forever thank you and your teachings. Your light is for your people and also for the rest of us. G-d bless Israel and the Jewish people forever.💙
A wonderful lecture by rabbi Jonathan Sacks. He was a wonderful communicator and Orator He was a learned man who explained. Shavuot and Torah. He was a proud Jew-proud of his people ,Community and Israel. He is a light to Judaism and explained what Judaism is and what is meant to be a Jew. Lastly Rabbi Jonathan Sacks was a family man ,a husband and father. May he be remembered for his writing ,communication. To the World As a historian he explained the what the why of Judaism to his Community and to the World. Let his memory be a blessing. He is greatly missed
Wonderful message. Rabbi Sacks is a new joy for me. I am Jewish by birth but not religion. But everyone Christian should learn from Rabbi Sacks to understand the foundation of our Faith in Christ. I love this man.
Thank you, Rabbi Sacks. As a Christian, I am blessed by your teachings. This particular teaching is very powerful and insightful for all the major religious traditions.
Thanks for teaching Torah. I am muslim. In second sura in Quran, God said we must believe Torah as muslim in order to be righteous person. I another verse said , Torah is light and guidance for all mankind. May God almighty bless you and your family. May his truth always be on your tongue.
Baruch HaShem, in every generation we have sages who brilliantly explain the loving kindness and the truth of the Torah (and the entire Tanakh). May you continue to be blessed, Rav Lord Sacks, with so much wisdom and eloquence. You inspire the nations to grab the "knaf ish Yehudi" and learn about the G-d of Israel. I once heard you speaking during Rosh Hashanah at the Marble Arch shul in London, and I got mesmerized with the content of your speech. In that same service I was called to open the Arc, and that's when everything transformed inside me as far as learning Torah more avidly. The Jewish people worldwide thank you for such a brilliant work you do. I believe that many, if not all, share the opinion that you truly work to be a light to the nations, spreading the best about the People Israel around the world. My deepest respect and gratitude for your shiurim that you make available online. Best regards. Shalom!
My great grandmother gave up her Jewish identity about 30 years prior to Sarah's work. My heart now yearns for restoration of what was lost. I am grateful for your lesson. Thank you!
my dear rabbi sacks,it is with humble humility and bravery that i read your sensitive and deep words on a weekly basis.you and the words you expound bring pleasures and trust for the future through your torah and present life teachings.blewss you from ofra, israel and your entire team and families with joyous smiles thru uncertainties...avraham and sarah berman
Thank you, Lord Rabbi Sacks, first, for your leadership in taking on topics of controversy - in our sometimes crazy world of ours - with humanity and respect for the " other " (point of view)..secondly, I very much enjoyed your Torah sermon. ...this Torah sermon is another example of your empathy, and sensitivity - not to mention your Torah scholarship - in taking on a topic that " others " would strongly disagree with, i.e. should woman be learning Torah/Talmud, in view of past Jewish cultural/Halachic norms and values. May you be blessed with continued health, and strength...wishing you and your loved ones, a Joyous and Meaningful Shavuot/Pentecost Holiday.
I want to be absolutely clear, I miss Rabbi Sacks being in the world with us in such a profound way that when I am seeing him, today on shavuot, it makes me miss him that much more.
I meet so many who claim to be Jewish in Christian circles who have no real understanding of Real Judaism. Rabbi Sacks has been a real joy to me as I love G-D and the Scriptures. You can't KNOW G-D without the Torah. Rabbi Sacks is the Lord's messenger in a world that do needs women to be Holy. I have two of his books and am reading another.bthey are a real joy to me against teachings of those referred to in Revelation 2:9,3:9
Many thanks to you Rabbi Sacks for giving an wonderful explanation about the Torah . The reasons for giving it to woman first . The Bible also states about the loving kindness first and the truth next. Clearly indicating the priorities about woman and man. The third reason given for this is due to Adams failure to keep the one and only commandment is very much understandable.
On the very day I received the 2003 Deutsch biography of the Maiden of Ludmir, I watched this segment of yours (several times). Wow! I also had just acquired the Midrash Rabbah and so looked up your source. This is so rich, and life changing. Good news! Will be sharing all this with our HaYesod Alumni Fellowship in North Texas. Thank you!!
It is because during the time of creation Women give & bring life to the world growing the generations! Women have always have had this very special place in Torah!
The Belzer Rebbe, the Gerrer Rebbe and the Chofetz Chayyim all supported Beis Yaakov. The Satmer Rov did not oppose but didnt support. Today there are girls schools in every Satmer community. I can't imagine the Torah world without Beis Yaacov.
""""PUT THIS ON LOUD!!!"""" 0:47 would be a very significant part of this learning, please turn up the speakers and please be ready for the unexpected!!!! So this video is dedicated to my so called friendly neighbors and the kind loving neighborhood!!! LMFAO!!! :CAN U SMELL IT????"
Great. Thanks. Normally men and chesed/giving are associated with the right side of the kabbalistic tree of life whereas women and taking/gvurah/emet are on the left side. But in this shiur things seem to be mixed: women=chesed, men=emet. Anyone has an idea why?
Shabbat Shalom. Is it perhps because woman would know the importance of keeping Torah and its was up to them to make sure man follow an keep it as well?...
Enjoyed the teaching thoroughly. B'H -- However...we know Hebrew is slightly more kosher with an American West Coast accent. 😂 [ joking ]. I will have to check out more of your teachings Rabbi. I am super grateful anytime I can glean more about Torah. I learned many things from you. 👍 SLM.

Thank you all for responding to my comment. Without going through the ugly details. There it is. The level of modesty in BY is as low as it can get within the context of Yidishkit. BY is now family businesses, ran by few for their people to be employed and being paid big salaries. You have a job as long as there is no one from the family who needs a job. Once there is one you are OUT. For those parents who want to take their kids out, there is almost no other option. Some have been taken in by the Chassidosher schools. But very very few with conditions.
