That’s actually a great question! Not to my knowledge because I don’t think there’s a rule dictating how far your foot has to come off the ground for each step you take! Some people prefer to jump very high on each stride and vice versa. As a shorter dabbler (5’9”) I’ve found that staying as low as possible works more to my advantage, regardless of whether the on-ball defender is shorter or taller than me!
@@DabblyDucksTechnically it is a travel according to FIBA rules. Also, the second move was a travel. For the gather step to count, you must step AND catch the ball at the EXACT same time. It can be done, but with better timing
