A Silent Voice (Japanese: 聲の形, Hepburn: Koe no Katachi, lit. 'The Shape of Voice') is a 2016 Japanese animated drama film[4] produced by Kyoto Animation, directed by Naoko Yamada and written by Reiko Yoshida, featuring character designs by Futoshi Nishiya and music by Kensuke Ushio.[5] It is based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. Plans for an animated film adaptation were announced back in November 2014, Kyoto Animation was confirmed to produce the film in November 2015. Miyu Irino and Saori Hayami signed on as voice casting in May 2016 and the theatrical release poster and official trailer were released in July 2016.

I just recently watched this movie, and it's one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen.
watched it like 11-20 times, can't watch it wothout tears. I know both sides, getting bullied, and bully, if u can, was like "eat or die" in schooltime. i regret so much and know the pain myself. this movie triggers me everytime
also this movie descripe so perfect, what depression looks like. I mean wtf , he tried to suicide, he can't, without getting all clear, cant watch anyone face to face, try to live up and struggle so much.. .its so hard to see this movie with same feelings

I just watched the movie for the first time yesterday and i absolutely love it 10/10. i can relate to Shoko because i was also being bullied in school because of having a disability. i wish could rewatch a silent voice a million times with no prior memory of it

When I watched this movie I cried so many times that I couldn't even count. Every time I watch this video I cry so much that the film was beautiful and sad at the same time. So I thank you very much for this video because it reminds me of so many memories, I cry about it every night.

For those who are here, I also recommend an anime called "I want to eat your pancreas." Entirely contrary to its name, it is one of the most profound and absurdly beautiful things that I have witnessed in my life, and I've witnessed a ridiculous amount of beauty. I like it better than A Silent Voice, which isn't to say that it isn't also one of the most profound and beautiful things I've ever seen either.

you missed the best scene , where she apologies to the mother.
I really find her suicide attempt and them meeting after his hospitalization as the best ones; When she were apologising to the mother I really wish the Mother wouold've just hugged her instead of just standing there...
@@imNqt I believe in the manga, it was completely different and they made some changes. Which I think made the scean better. From the way she called shouko's name and her change of attitude from the previous scean, it was like she was holding herself back, It made her just sanding there an act of control, it was all the mother could do to not berate or punish her. The mother couldn't forgive her.which in turn made shouko's apology all the more heart wrenching.
