I am sorry for each and every life that is now lost. Suffering has no color. Every individual and every family experiences pain the same way. Only those who suffer understand what it means to suffer. Suffering cannot stop by taking revenge, but rather by allowing others to prosper. Under occupation, settlements, daily humiliation, and killings will ultimately affect one's own peace. Also, before talking against Hamas we should remember that it was created by Israel to divide and rule the occupied area. However, it fired back.

Didn't Israel end occupation leave in the early 2000s, and then Hamas overthrew the democratic Palestinian Authority after that? So while Israel has committed crimes, they also have made gestures towards peace thwarted by Hamas and their angry supporters.

I know it's uncomfortable, but we need to come together as a community, and denounce what Isreal has been doing to Palestnians. I know it's uncomfortable, and I know that there are shared traumas there for us as a people, and there is a lot to be discussed and debated, but one thing we all know, is that these student groups who prortest on Universities are RARELY on the wrong side of history, and history has reflected this fact, many times over. When they risk their future to protest for what they perceive to be an injustice, they are probably correct.

Israel's apartheid was largely powered by fear of Palestinian suicide bombers, which did happen during their infitadas, and the latent threat kept alive by Hamas' rule. Israeli crimes will not be acknowledged by Israel as a whole without also validating their fears.
