About This Episode:
TOday we're in Cebu City looking for that classic Filipino tasty treat, Dinuguan which is basically a stew of internal pig organs and the most special ingredient, pig blood. Along the way, we also side quest at the market and try some of the Philippines classic Bagoong, which is a pink fermented shrimp paste. It does not get more intense or yummy than today's video.

I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting and strange foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly MY point of view, but is not meant to offend any person or culture.
Music:
I'm a white guy and I absolutely love denuguan. I was in the marines and we had a weekend pass and one of my junior marines who is Philippino asks me if I want to go meet his family. I said ya sure! So we drove for 5 or 6 hours to his family's house. We got in late and sleep in the next day and I wake up to this amazing smell and when I walked down stair I see a huge feast that his mom has been cooking all since the early hours of the morning. She starts to make me try everything. At least 40 + dishes. I tell her I can't take anymore food or I'll bust. She looks at me and says " put you haven't tried the chocolate pudding" . My friend looks at me and says "Don't do it. It's not a desert. After eating all that the denuguan (chocolate pudding) was a home run. It's my most favorite dish ever from anywhere. I've been to 10 country's and it still tops anything.
Was it in subic bay? Cooks around central luzon are amazing. Specially in clark.
What kind of dinuguan is that? Is it a pork meat dinuguan? I bet next time you need to try the pig’s intestin dinuguan ‘cos it’s so tasty!!!
40+ dishes thats exagerating maybe less than 20
the last video you mention about what dish should you try in the Philippines?
I suggest also trying Pencit bihon or Canton, or crispy Pata,
Yeyyyyyyyyy!!! :D:D:D I love dinuguan!!! :D:D:D

Best Ever Food Review Show do u have any food allergies? And has this food ever tasted nasty?
Best Ever Food Review Show I got scared for you when you tried the uncooked/unsauteed fermented shrimp paste because even most Filipinos do not eat that uncooked. You are so brave! Lol!
Regarding Dinuguan, the featured recipe is like a hybrid of two dishes, the Bopis and the Dinuguan. I guess that is how Cebuanos cook their Dinuguan, but for most parts of the Philippines, the traditional one has only few ingredients using only vinegar to ensure that the blood will have the signature super black color.
Mon Mariano lmao
I'm biased since I just watch the episodes shot in the Philippines. I got to say that I'm enjoying watching your videos. Your connection with the locals felt genuine. More subs for you, our friend!
arent you afraid to eat food after flies been all over the meat? I cant do that... how do people do it?
I was married to a Filipino for 5 years and I lived with his family for 3 years in CA. I fell in love with the culture, sadly he was abusive and I had to divorce him but I miss being apart of their culture! His family was kind to me and I loved pancit, tupig, sisig, tocino, adobo, longanisa and more.

I love how curious and respectful he is. So many foreigners go to other countries to eat and “react” by being like “oh this is so weird” instead of encouraging others to try these foods and learn of the culture.
Most underrated food review show in the planet. Hope you get big soon, Sonny! Thank you for visiting the Philippines

Her hospitality is so genuine, it’s not only for the camera. That’s how most filipinos welcomes you to their houses.
They also beat their children for literally any mistake, such is the way of the filipino . You didn't wash your hands bam!!
nice
Dinuguan is one of my favorite dishes. I grew up to this dish in my province when I was a boy. Now I’ve lived in Southern California whenever I go to a Filipino restaurant I have all my friends try it and they enjoy it.
You know it’s the Philippines when you see icecream containers holding the recipes haha

Dude your production quality of these videos is insane! You've got great video editing, very humorous, wide range of coverage of all foods, list goes on. Got to say this is on par if not better than any food related TV series. How are you not at 1/2/3 million subscribers!?!?

Sonny is a producer and does video editing before he even started doing this and that’s why his videos are top quality. He will catch Mark Wiens soon on subscribers.
I love the Philippines 🇵🇭...the Philippines will always have a special place in my heart ❤
I only love cebu and mindanao 😏
mt
I'm not a Filipina but this is my fav Filipino dish. What I love most about the dish is the chitterlings & blood. I'm a southern southeast asian (Lao/Thai/Chinese) american woman who loves chitterlings cooked in every kind of way. I grew up eating a lot of animal organ meat (and msg) bc it was cheaper than cuts of regular meats.
there's still a lot of people specially in the west who thinks msg is bad. so many misinformed people 😒
Thank you for loving our country man :)

Hahaha. This guy is so funny. "Oh I thought it's a hand washing center." 🤣🤣🤣
"arent you that guy from the fiesta" LOL
that was FinnSnow i think. ;)
@metronomad i don't get it
they both went to a fiesta. finnsnow was in socorro, mindanao and sonny was in bohol :)
In one of his other episodes where he went to Bohol to attend a town fiesta he met that same guy (which is probably a freelance cook): hence his remark "arent you that guy from the fiesta" :)
My mom cooks the best dinuguan and prepares it with vinegar instead of kamias, (coz all our moms are better than all other moms lol)
but honestly i never tried this one with "kamias", now im curious.. and hungry
Dave Harris Reosora ..the best dinuguan is from visayas or mindanao..
Dave Harris Reosora every family has their own version of dinuguan,
In iloilo and bacolod city they use batuan and i prefer the taste of their dinuguan than any other regions
Ken Garcia YAAAAAAS!
ung kaunaunahang nagluto ng dinuguan ay sa pampanga at ang original name nya "tidtad" o tinadtad sa tagalog. kung saan sya nanggaling duon ung pinakamasarap na luto nya. credits pala sa mga kapampangan.
In ilocano we call the green fruit (pyas)
Any ilocano their like +////

Naalam boyet😅
Wen uncle.
Yes its pyas hehe nagalsem!
Pangasinan... Kamias
You are one brave soul. I'm Filipino-American and have never tried it myself. However, seeing this episode has struck my curiosity. LoL thank you ☺👍
Ah, you're one of them.
Sonny I didn't notice that I was watching your videos until 1am. I was really enjoying your humor and editing skills. Not boring at all and you being genuine makes this so fun to watch. I can sense your a genuine person so thank you for visiting the Philippines and I wish one day my mother can cook more Filipino food for you. We love to have you here! More power and success Sonny!
I automatically scrunched my face and felt the sourness from here when he bit into the camias 😂
I think that's just you smelling your clothes
Me tooooo🥴

Me too 🤣🤣
Chicken Nuqqets bro. Have you even tasted Iba or Kamias? It is REALLY sour! Haha! You can literally taste it just by watching someone eating it 🤣
been lockdown for 4 months and this is my only escape to see cebu city again.. THanks sonny
I like his reviews so much. It’s just natural. Not being pretentious and showing the places people actually should see.
Dinuguan is a Filipino savory stew of pork meat with blood.
Originally dinuguan comes from manila, the sauce is thick and spicy. Manilenos use pork meat or small intestine. But for me the best dinuguan comes from Bicol, they cook usual pork meat and laman loob (internal organs) with the twist of coconut milk and spicy kick of chilies, lemon grass and other spices for savory.
I love dinuguan... Nice food
Masarap din un dinuguan w/Gata SA MGA kapwa KO technician,ok din un kinagisnan KO sa sampaloc MLA.dinuguan misua SA umaga pinaka dbest ko un crispy dinuguan Banda sa Amin SA I.N
nah, dinuguan originated in somewhere in europe. it just ended up having a localized version for it in the philippines.
My Portuguese side of the family makes blood sausages all the time. With that said, dinuguan is perfectly fine with me. I prefer mine with a healthy dose of vinegar..Cheers!!
Chris P. Pata i love it with spicy vinegar
Chris P. Pata I just got your name! Crispy pata!!! 😂😂😂
Agreed. The Bisaya version (which by the way they call dugo-dugo, not dinuguan) is a bit too flat for my taste, unfortunately. I actually wondered if it was clean at first
Doña Zarkasma Memeng , no need to comment something not related to the video.
I enjoy watching everytime.. he's very good, friendly & a joker at same time..thank you🤗

Forever my favorite youtube channel.. I love how you negotiate with the dog...LOL.
First off another great vid. I was fortunate to grow up with a lot of different cultures, one being Pinoy's (Philippine) and one of the mothers who cooked for all of us made this dish and it was amazing.
Jayson Smith i love dinuguan to eat but to cook it i dont like blood
k
i really admire your guts of getting to unfamiliar places just to taste the culture of it. im a cebuano and currently working in manila. i have a nostalgic moment while watching this episode. great compilation. salute!
I love dinuguan one of my favorite dishes. I craved it a lot when I was pregnant with all my sons.
philippines is one of the best producers of exotic food and cooking methods. 😍😇❤️❤️❤️ and i love this Best Food Ever because the vlogger is so entertaining, he was giving us satisfaction, while watching this. i love it 😍❤️❤️
Beautiful pig lung....kid...don't smoke. A valuable advice.
That's so funny. But I agree. I should say the pig lung is better that my husband's 😁
Victoria Roth I hope the pig didn’t have copd (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

Very creative and unpredictable :v
Iglesia No Cristo Ka Ba?

wahahaha savage!
Food shows like this one made me walking into a local restaurant where the same group of people eat every day and new customers are an oddity. I pointed to 3 different items and they questioned if I was sure. I told them how I wanted to go in blind so I could have an honest opinion about these dishes. To this day, dinaguan is one of my top 5 favorite dishes.
I watched most of food reviews in TV but this one is more awesome. This one should be in Netflix! Really the Best Food Review Ever!
give this man more subs! 😁🖒
Jed Carpitanos I will accept.
ei Best Ever Food Review im a susbcriber here in the Philippines..if your review is really for food you should go to Pampanga the culinary capital of the Philippines..You can try real authentic Filipino foods look for Chef Claude Tayag..Authentic sisig, dinuguan, bbq. kare kare adobo sinigang etc.
you got it
Lester devero, oh come on! That's like saying food from other regions are sub par. Different regions have different preferences and there's a lot of good food out there.
But if he does go to Pampanga, then I would recommend that he try the buro with mustasa and fried hito(catfish). Now that's hardcore.
I grew up around the market when I was little since my grandma had a shop selling dried fish, watching your videos about Philippines makes me miss back home so much :(
dinuguan is still my best Filipino food. Thanks for showing how it's being cook.
You should try the Bicolano's version of dinuguan. It taste really amazing 😍😊
Yes, I agree. Here we use coconut milk and more spice..
Try the ilonggo version i may say its different ..

I really like dinuguan..
I always watching your show every night Everytime I'll go for sleep.
i am so glad you visited my country... welcome there are lots of food here that you haven't tasted yet... lots and lots of it!
This is the Visayan version of dinuguan. You should also try the Bicol version of dinuguan that aside from her ingredients, it also used lot of coconut cream that makes the texture creamy and the well known Bicol Express with lots of chillies..I'm so hungry now... thanks for visiting the Philippines👍❤️
i agree..bicol version of dinuguan is the best. coconut milk and cream makes it more yummy
Dayo k ilocos norte Andun pinakamasarap n dinuguan promise

My best friend in high school is Filipina and I loved all of her food she would bring to lunch at school ♥️ we would always share our food and the differences were obvious but we connected so much over food always even though her Tagalog was better than her English and I spoke English only
You’ve gone a long way Sonny and has improved a lot. Just watching your show makes my blood sugar spike! :)
Some dinuguans are kinda sour... I prefer it just a tad bit sour ;) and with a mix of isaw ng baboy and pork... ooooh delicious!

I'm hoping to see you soon back here in Cebu City Sonny! I love how you called aunt Veronica "MY new pilipino MOTHER".
Wow! Never heard of dishes with blood before your show. It is not something I would normally be curious to order for the first time but I must say it looked very appetizing. Thank you for sharing your recipe! I think Filipinos have a great sense of humor and are very friendly and Light hearted from my experience. 🙆🏾♀️👍🏽✌🏽❤

thank you for visiting us filipino's.. im proud of it.. god bless sonny..
Sonny, are you back in the Philippines now? Last time, I checked you were in Cambodia or Vietnam. Yes sir, dinuguan is one of my favorite Filipino dish with cooked white rice, yum! I love it and I can make this dish too! The story is I would never failed to try every dinuguan that comes across me, either in some random Pinoy restaurants that I happened in my travels, or at Filipino potluck parties at work or just anyone's home. With birthday parties, wedding parties, house warming parties, anniversary parties, you name-it parties, Filipinos get into, there is FOOD of course central to this, and likely this dish, DINUGUAN, WOULD NOT FAIL to show up, seemed to be always there, at that proverbial table, haha. At times, there is not only one dish of it shows up, but maybe two or three folks would bring this dinuguan dish, but they're cooked differently, because of there is personal touch to it whoever cooks it. Dinuguan dish are also cooked, varies from one province to another. The main ingredient of course the pork blood, no doubt, and the pork tripe/intentines, ears, tongues, hearts and liver: in short, organ meats that are once throwaways, i guess not anymore, hehe!! Very interesting dish, but is yummy!! Subscribing to your channel!!! ;)
aklan pinoy staying and living in Vietnam ATM. Thanks for the suggestions!
with all that is going on in the Philippines, thanks for showing Filipino hospitality. look at my people smile =)
Love watching your videos makes make feel starving all the time 😭❤️😂 . You should try the famous “Larang” (spicy eel) in our town 😉.

Craving for some Dugo Dugo in the middle of this quarantine. 😋 Our family recipe usually includes tanglad. It just takes it to a whole new level. 😂
You should try sinigang which i think is the best filipino recipe. I prefer sinigang than adobo.

AmericaThe Beautiful! ___ yes!!!! Lami!!!
He won't easily find sinigang in Cebu. It's not really that popular in Visayas and Mindanao.
timdella92 what you talking about. its served everyday in cdo. can't speak for visayas rhough
in cebu they dont eat sinigang sa sampalok , kamias , they prefer sinigang sa miso or gabi or nilagang baboy.
