A few months ago I was in a friend's apartment and heard the muffled, distant sound of John Frusciante's music being played by a neighbor. Not having ever encountered another fan of his solo work in person, it came as a real surprise. I didn't feel like knocking doors to see who it was, but that was a happy little moment.
In November I was in Malta and I walked past a restaurant and I heard the sound of The Past Recedes... First time I'd ever heard John's music in public.. I waited outside the restaurant until it finished
John's music is always so direct and personal, no matter what style. There is no pretension, just emotion. That's why he's the only famous person I call by their first name.

I'm in tears right now .. And it's so purifying, because it's so hard for me to get to this point .. Tears as they fall clean the soul and heart..And John, you said that in the dark times of your life the only company what you had was music..And your music has been the only pure company I've had in the last two years..John, as much as you don't read this I want to thank you very much! This doesn't just come out of any normal human being. When John was battling his demons with drugs, it also opened his mind up to different dimensions and it made him use certain parts of his mind that most people can't achieve sober. Those times were an important part of his life, it shaped how music would become of him years later, and this is the master piece that you get.
John, you are the realest artist out there. A musical genius yet humble and pure. I'm just discovering all of your solo work and it's blowing my mind with its perfection! I listen to some songs on repeat for days just in awe at the beauty of it. This song is amazing. Thank you!

I've heard pretty much every interview I could find and his philosophy on life (like in this gorgeous song) is beautiful and I agree with it a long with the vast majority of all of you.
