Unfortunately it is stuck on "Phone is about to project" for a few seconds and then disconnects :( No idea what could be the problem as i followed all the steps and this is happening on a brand new PC..

I have tried all the steps mentioned in this video and my "Projecting to this PC" is still saying "this device doesn't support receiving Miracast, so you can't project to it wirelessly". I saved the DxDiag to my desktop and it shows that Miracast is available, with HDCP but I am still unable to project to my PC.

hi i've read somewhere that "setting" is counted as a protected content, then how do i connect my phone to my laptop if i can't open "setting" on my phone to turn on "screen cast" and click connect to my laptop. i've done everything in this video, but it just won't connect because i need to open "setting" in order to connect to my laptop but then "setting" is counted as protected content, so what exactly should i do? i've tried exiting "setting" while it tries to connect but that doesn't work either because in order for it to connect, i need to stay in the "setting" app and wait until it says "connected" but because windows says "setting" is a protected content then how/when will it "connected"? I hope you can help me, i would really appreciate that!

If the app does not work on emulated devices, it will not work on bluestacks. You must use the app in an actual mobile device, unfortunately.

I do everything what you show in video but when I changed the projection setting to available everywhere it show message on top hardware wasn't specifically designed for wireless but miracast available with hdcp in my laptop

1. Did you turn off all 3 windows firewalls? Do you have any other third-party firewall software?
2. Did you change the projection settings? As told in video?
3. Your windows PC name listed in your mobile or other device?
4. Do you face this issue only when projecting copyright content or you are facing this always?
As told in the video protected content can not be displayed is just an info, wifi display will still work with this warning.

But after few minutes when I check it again it showed me that Projecting to this pc says( We are still trying to determine mine the features) First only Thier is one problem and second one had also joined the party!Means I am not able to enable the settings in projecting to this Pc .Plz help me if u know to fix it!

I'm trying to connect a surface pro 7+ running win 11 to a laptop running win 10. I can project from the surface on the laptop, but not the other way around. When I search for the surface on the laptop it never appears in the connect window. Wonder what the problem is?

Didn’t work for me. I think with my work computer they have Mcafee endpoint security. Trying to connect to my personal surface just as an extra monitor. It keeps giving me the “protected content can’t be viewed on my device. “ I think this might be the issue though I’m not certain. Really sucks though.
Brother - please do not try this in your work computer, generally work computers are highly protected it may not work in it. On other hand your company is really not restrictive and has given admin rights to you to the PC then please go ahead and try.
Other alternatives - Please see if you have HDMI input port in your PC/Laptop then use it to direct office display to your PC.

I do have a surface docking station coming but from what I hear the surface doesn’t do hdmi connections as a monitor. Can you confirm that? It was just really a matter of convenience for me. I will survive without it.

I have updated both the graphics driver as well as wifi driver and also uninstalled and reinstalled them. Still doesn't worked. 1) If you have wifi dongle, try different USB port.
2) Pls try to be with in close range and see even in that case disconnection happens.
3) Continuously use it and see even in that case disconnection happens.
4) Update wifi, display driver, OS on PC and update system software in your phone.
This did not work at all, connection from my phone to my pc works just fine, I can do most everything except the one thing I really wanted to do. I get content cannot be displayed on secondary device error anytime I try to view streaming video. I am paying money for my FIOS and wanted to be able to bring it up on my phone and project to my laptop to watch when not at home. I was hoping this video was a hack to get around this annoying issue.

If you have external graphics card can you pls try disabling the internal graphics card, restart check if internal graphics card is still disabled then try further?
@@brainerstech all 3 of them say yes, yet I still have that protected content error. I have tried switching to multiple apps on my phone before using cast. my pc says my phone connects for 1 second before being blocked. connect says my phone is in the allowed list of devices (it's the only device in that list). I only use internal graphics card.

Not for me in the UK, even with the Firewall completely shut down, between Lenovo tablet and Asus powered MB running W11 . . . . . both indicate they support Miracast . . .both have the relevant apps installed . . . the apps on both machines detect the opposite number machine and correctly list its identity . . . but, working from the tablet to the desktop, it consistently tries to make a connection and then gives-up with no error messages either end.
Strikes me that this technology is about as reliable and consistent as some Bluetooth and is at the stage that Virtual platforms were about 10 years ago.
Wi-Fi Alliance ! Huh ! They and Redmond can't even get two machines 6 feet apart to co-operate !

it worked for a moment when I had Miracast in Scott on my Android but the lag was too severe. I have a Nokia x100 and it comes with screencast my computer so Aurora r11 brand new and it does have the hardware required. Miracast would not work on my phone anymore after the first try when I try to move my mouse it lagged and then it stopped when I uninstalled and reinstalled it worked one time and then I had to uninstall. uninstalling I assumed my phone still had everything required my computer does but it would lose connection it sees it it reads it but it does not hold on to the connection
Does my machine needs to have WiFi?
Yes. You can buy a WIFI dongle if you don't have it is cheep.

If still not showing.. then look for a hotspot source .. connect your phone and laptop wifi to that same external hotspot(could b anther phone) and it should work perfectly
