Thanks, hope I never need to do all this with these, too precious. Hopefully a bit of cleaning and lubing will do. Took the risk and followed your instructions on some later less rare ones, eventually got them working again.
Excellent video! I have some Shimano SIS downtube shifters from about 1986 and I simply can't get into them. I think they are probably the same tech as this shifter. They just (redacted) won't come apart! I'm afraid I'm going to brake them trying to get them apart. Any ideas? Thanks for the video!
. I got one infront of me now, RX M550. They seem to be locked down with a special nut that doesn’t seem to be removable. I don’t know what model you have, but given the smaller smaller body, its possible they did this alot for weight saving etc
@@atboy4342 Thanks! One of my shifters has A350 stamped into it. I think it's from the first year or two of road SIS. If I find any magic trick I'll let you know, but I'm thinking that if YOU can't get in it, then nobody can. I have a stray one that I might sacrifice by cutting it open just to see if any truths will be revealed. Keep up the good work!
This helped massively and would have saved me loads of time if hadn't spent hour looking for the spacer I misplaced! Cheers.
Thank you' this was really help full
This is the era that most interests me, thanks for these vids, very helpful.
Thanks for this, have a few shifters to service so this series should help.
Thanks for the good job 🙏🏻🧡👋🏻

Its fairly easy compared to others and well worth it. They shift so much smoother:)
