What an inspiration this pilot is - exceptional flying skill AND a lovely personality ! Just goes to show, if you want something so badly then work hard and you'll get it !
This was a little diffrent. I loved it. She was very interesting, and had a pretty special career. I hope we can se more interviews from female pilots. I know gender shouldn't matter, but this interview were very good. Keep it up.
I may have to show this to my partner for my 40th 👀 As a boy I wanted to fly the tornado. A dream I never got the chance to fulfil for various reasons. Ahh hey ho. Enjoyed this interview, I found her so easy to listen to. Very clear and knowledgeable. Thanks a lot
Well done sir!!! Again... Was a little surprised (I shouldn't of been) when she said the 300 ranked right up there as her favorite plane... I once spoke with a Navy pilot who flew F-14's, he said of course the F-14 was one of his fav's but his other was the Pitt's!!! He loved to thrash the little plane and he said that little rascal could do things that would rip the extra large fighter into little pieces... Always fun to hear a pilots favorite a/c, you just never know what might pop up :-)
A brilliant interview Mike, she has lots of energy and very good flow of information going and enthusiasm which I liked, nice to hear she played a crucial part in Op Telic, whilst I was also on the ground, it's interesting to hear from her perspective ☺ it's great to have females on the front line, I know this can be a hot topic of conversation, but she's proven the very important point, they can do it and also do a great job. Excellent work Mike, a nice smooth interview ☺
Good interview; if I may offer feedback: at the 6:40 mark when she said her personality type was more suited to Tornado than Harrier you could have asked why (my guess: she likes to have someone to chat to!), and later 26:20 when she said she left the Reds early, you could have asked her a bit more about that, or did you agree it was off limits?
Cheers mate. Well I have a plan as I need to generally stick to a time frame and keep to the main subjects, otherwise the interview could just go off on a tangent. Can’t please everyone so I stick to what I want to do as going by committee never works and your second point was not appropriate to ask her.
@@Aircrewinterview Appreciate the view on the second point, but interacting with your interviewee and asking dynamic questions will take your interviews to the next level.
One question you didn't ask Kirsty was "Did you get to keep your Red flying suit?" Otherwise a really great interview and she has such a fantastic passion for flying. Thanks Mike!
I can somewhat back that up also. In the Classic Flyers Museum in New Zealand, Ray Hannah’s Red flying suit is on display. Ray flew with the Reds during the Gnat period and went on to be a pilot and technical advisor on some major flying movies such as Memphis Belle. So yes they do get to keep their Red suits.
Ihave photographs of what i assume was Kirsty after landing with a flat tyre and with the other display aircraft having to go around her aircraft after their landing.I am not sure if her aircraft had a flat tyre before or after her landing but must have required competent control.
Great interview--Such a shame that Kirsty was flying with the Reds at the time of the great sadness with Eggman etc.It must have been hard to stay as long as she did

Great communicator puts you right there in the cockpit.
She spoke so fluently and expressively. Massively impressed.
Great interview. I could watch her all day.

Great interview. Kirsty is intelligent; articulate; personable and for an ex Red Arrow - she is very grounded - a very inspiring person.
Great interview. What a lovely person Kirsty is. Very talented too.
Fabulous interview. Kirsty is a delight to listen to - she is obviously very passionate about flying and she's had some amazing experiences as well.
What a great interview and pilot. Would love to see the Blades come to Avalon in 2023!
Thanks Mike.
An excellent interview with such a great communicator

I recall Kirsty as a student and then a Creamie at valley. Well done her for having a great career.
Very informative. Went by pretty quick...which is a good sign in my view.

Steve Davies I take your point mate.
Thank you For this Interview, For a Not British Person Who Know about RED ARROWS Great to see what Happen to them after the leave to Team
Wow. Never knew a Tornado was only supersonic without stores! Makes sense really. Brilliant interview!
Thanks mate
Even the mighty F-16 famed for its tight 9G turns cant do them with a load of stores under the wings
One of my favourite interviews, god she can talk.
What enthusiasm, its infectious!
I saw the blades at Cromer yesterday !
Hope you enjoyed them :)
Brilliant interview Mike
Cheers

EVERYTHING APPLE COMPUTERS Thanks very much mate! Glad to know you enjoy the channel :)
Astig talaga siya...matapang at malakas ang loob ni Ms Kristy Murphy
First 3 words she said, I knew she is the real deal. Brilliant woman... and she guns!
I fully understand why the Extra 300 is her favourite airplane. It's an amazing plane to have fun in!
Excellent. Well done.

Ha I knew I missed something! But yep they get to keep them. Cheers Steve!

Wow. Such energy. She's just great! Just goes to show that women can do anything that men can do.
Brilliant lady.
Red arrows my favourite.

Very, very awesome!
Cheers
Inspiring!
I love red arrows
Does Kirsty sign tornado books for enthusiasts?
A pity you missed the most interesting bit, Kirsty’s last year with the Reds; the loss of her friends and why she left.
👍
Must get myself some Zyrad cables.
What an interesting lady
Can you imagine her son's bragging rights?
She will have a very proud son I’m sure!
@Star Trek Theory he did the same job, but I'm sure he's proud.
I don't believe she flew with the Red Arrows for very long (?)
Astig....
Oh I *hated* the Tomahawk.
Rather short career in the RAF, guess thats how it is now.
Wow she was a creamy
Good grief..10 seconds of that voice..
Don’t know what means
