Thanks so much for all your salient advice to we budding Bass players. Blessings from your Hugo Lowenstern pal in Texas.

    I hadn't heard of this before when I watched this video yesterday, so I was surprised to notice today, when I was practicing a tricky piece on soprano sax, that I was doing this unconsciously. Thanks for helping me become aware of what I'm doing! That will surely help me as a teacher.
    Now I'll have to experiment on my clarinet to find out if 'm already doing it there too, or if I have something new to try!

    • @michaelkemenes6496
      @michaelkemenes6496 5 лет назад

      I totally understand. For me, what I found that worked was embouchure. I watched many of these videos, trying out new techniques until I found the right one. Also, another key component is air. Dont be afraid to blow more air just because your going to squeak. Everyone has done it, so just blow and perfect everything else on the way.

    I cannot play most of the clarion register on bass above about f without doing it in a scale. I’m a Bb player and I’m figuring out bass mostly on my own as no teachers in my area have bass experience, so everything i know is mainly from my Bb. Currently grade 6 level with decent embouchure on Bb but not really experienced as much as I should have. What tips do you have to help me figure out the clarion register on bass?
