The book is much more interesting and looks at many more figures than just these four. The movie takes many liberties with the truth which is necessary for the overall story.
Congratulations to these 4 remarkable women, Katherine Johnson, Dr. Christine Darden, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson for their incredible courage and determination to change the world this Congressional Gold Medal is well deserved.
Long overdue, yet CONGRATULATIONS to these amazing, outstanding ladies who finally get their achievements recognized! Wish this was taught in schools decades ago, but now allow historical moments to be had for all future generations! ✌🏽💙🙏🏽

So glad that this fabulous cast is getting recognition! Besides fabulous acting, the script writers really caught the essence of that time. The work that those ladies performed was sometimes done under difficult situations, including racism and misogyny. I remember this time period all too well.

In addition she, and her previous work, was the basis for the calculations required to slingshot Apollo 13 around the moon to return home, as they had to shut down the onboard computer. She was involved space shuttle program and she also co-authored many papers concerning space travel which are still being used to this day. In addition they named to new computational research facility in her honour. This is not to diminish the work of the others.

I'm absolutely thrilled that the 4 honorees are all members of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Inc. I was also moved by Congression Jeffries' inspirational speech that included, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." These women were clearly called by God for "...such a time as this...," for the space program during a time of rampant discrimination. God allowed the brilliance of these women to shine at a critical point in history.
As a speaker Mike Johnson has to honour the four prominent names, which were highlighted by the movie, as a movie obviously has to do. 2024: These 4 were not standing alone on a plain field. They just were the prominent ones among a group.

Meanwhile, NASA management just sent up 2 American Astronauts in a faulty capsule and are stranded at the space station. NASA Management knew the capsule was not fully tested but they sent it up anyway. NASA will soon be defund and if these 2 Astronauts die we will hold all NASA management accountable.

I am happy President Obama presented her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015 while she was still alive.
