The only reason Asmon isn't playing Baldurs gate is because it starts with Bald
Lmao
😂
💯
He better start calling it urs gate. The amount of fun stuff he can do he is gonna have some funny content
Wouldn’t that be more of a reason to play it
The fact you can handle every situation any way you want and the environment reactivity is great. Its truly like playing tabletop DnD. The GM sets up an interesting story and you are just like, "Fuck that, we kill the quest giver".
I actually did kill the quest giver at one point in act 2 because they were refusing to talk to me after I did, or rather didn't do, some stuff they didn't like; so I was just like "well screw you too! Gonna kill you and find my own way around." I lost a lot of hours aimlessly wandering around afterwards before finally bumping in to a completely random NPC out in the world map that finally gave me some direction as to where to go.
@@OArchivesXno duh, but this is the upgrade. Made by the same people after all

It is impressively difficult to fully break the BG3 story line, no matter how off track you go.
it truly is masterfully done.
I mean... the main story line yes but losing out on massive questlines is actually as easy as aggroing the wrong character because you stole a dish from their cupboard.
@@NA-nz9lv extra frustrating when you did not even intend to steal said object and it only occurred because the games UI is genuinely awful at times

@0cidd0 then click on the left stick.
Yup that guy he killed at the windmill has a full fledged quest line that follows through the whole game. Crazy how you can just kill him right there and never experience it.
If you let him live you will never experience him sailing through the air though.
The choice is clear methinks.
Dont remind me. I released the brake by mistake and sent him flying, and hadn't saved in ages so I let it be.

That halfling gameplay was on a whole other level. I love that you can play the game as chaotic as you want.
Some of that stuff does take a LOT of setup. But Larian obviously knows that some players will put in the effort to cause that kind of chaos.
Those Halflings make me feel stupid, I had this whole elaborate plan where I attracted Gobbos to the Spider Pit and fed them to the spiders, spent a couple hours doing so, meanwhile, they just blow up the place.
@@XochiCh Wait, did it work? That is fucking genius!
@@BeCurieUs
The bosses are immune to this, only the Gobbos can be thrown to the pit, but its just so satisfying seeng the Gobbos being eaten one by one.
@@XochiChI went down into that spider pit when I was level 3 or 4 or something. It was a nightmare deathdrap, is it one of those things we are supposed to come back to later? Or one of those super challenges where you are supposed to take care and plan how to set up traps for the spiders?
That is what makes the game great, you can kill anyone at any point, and it affects the plot. + combat is awesome.
Can't kill kids. So no, you can't kill "anyone".
That's what Swen said when they were making DOS games: can kill every single person you see and you should still be able to finish game. Glad they kept that for BG3 too.

xqc
Playing video games is pretty overrated
To be fair, if he played, people would constantly get angry about the choices he makes and try to backseat the whole experience
Playing game and watching video about game has the same DC
He’s already been doing that for years
He's never played this game 2024.
I think the best part about BG3 is that it truly allow you to experience it in any way you want and mostly retain its story trough it while still having the depth of a much more linear game.
Im not having this experience. I find myself reloading a lot, otherwise I would be missing many questlines and part of the story. Although I do already have 80 hours in so I should probably just roll with those decisions and make different ones on my next playthrough
I mean, its basically impossible to see all of it in one playthrough due to the sheer amount of stuff and the branching choices and if you want to reload to get the most out of it its fine (i often do the same) but the point is that weather or not you do that you get a good story compared to other games where either your decisions dont really matter or they do but the story is skin-deep as a consequence
@@snperkiller1054 You're absolutely right. A good problem to have I guess hey. The replay value is through the roof with this game and I'm sure I'm going to see everything on the 39 playthroughs I will do 😂
@@snperkiller1054 I realized even reloading isn't enough. I have saves at important points in the story to come back to and change directions, but even then I'm too deep in to really see early stuff pay off later on in the game. Truly an amazing rpg.

Oooh yes. 😂😂
Greetings from a GM
I am finding the game much more enjoyable not trying to min-max the experience. Like find all the quests, find all the items. I do reload sometimes if something looks like a real pain in the ass. Like fight 10 goblins instead of sneaking past. But in general it's pretty liberating just to own the decisions and move on.
Is the game easier then it was in the beta?
@haunter6947
I'm playing on Tactician and the game becomes trivial after player lvl 5.
Gnolls outside waukeen's rest and the Hag were the sweet spot for me in terms of difficulty. (theres a reason why the beta was limied to lvl 5)
While the chosen of the Dead Three are fun and cinematic, you face them at lvl 7-10, when your damager (open hand monk in my case) can 1-turn-kill a supposed main boss.
I'm stashing barrels and potions away in case I need them but I go into and leave boss fights with the whole party full hp.
The tadpole powers are unnecessary as well, unlocked them all but didnt need to use them.
Good thing it's single player so you can play it the way you want, scum-saving or not.
I F5 like Brock Lesnar in fights but don't worry so much about narrative dice rolls.
@@Squeekysquidyeah that was a tough one. Next time, I’ll use barrels.
You can do anything, its so liberating. However, each decision you make and every action and even dialogue choice you make has an impact in the game. That is what is truly impressive with this game. You can play it a million times and still not see every possible path.
Ladies and gentlemen, we finally saw it. The first ever halflings in the service of Khorne. Blood for the blood god!
SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE

@@ТарасМакаренко-ф3ш if I remember right, there was huge sphere in slums (in Baldur's Gate) in which you can enter with sertain NPC's help. Adventures (and some crazy halflings) inside.
A fun thing about barrels, you can pick them up, they are heavy though. BUT you can then send them to camp and they’ll stay there so you can retrieve them for your huge ambushes :D
Asmon needs to stop sleeping on this game. I would watch every stream and every video. Twice!
Asmon only plays games made by Blizzard and other greedy Corporates that will pay him extra to stream their games.
Is he really gonna play a 100hr game with this much dialog tho?
he wont. it would just lead to another break
He knows you will, but you'll keep watching his next 12 videos of it until it's out of the news cycle. Then when BG3 gets big again in 2 years and announce a dlc or a new big update, he will play it for 2 hours for a single stream

From someone that’s never played a D&D game or turn based combat for that matter in my life. I would have to say the game is amazing. I’m on my second play through and spent every bit of 125 hours my first time through and I honestly feel life I didn’t even touch how much it had to offer. Love your videos man! It's a fair visualization of D&D but, stories at the table can go even crazier.
I've never played baulders gate or D&D. The sheer amount of choices and options now make me want to try this. I suck at RPG character building but I may just have to play this.
Edit: Thanks for the advice everyone. Just bought the game. See everyone in 3 months when I finish act 1.
It can be as crazy as you want or as vanilla as you want. The choice is yours. Definitely worth checking out. Prior to BG3, I’ve never had any interest in ever playing a turn based game, but this game is fun as fuck.
Even if you suck you can play on easy mode and just have fun with the story and choices.
Also, character creation and building is very simplified (and not in a bad way). You can't go wrong going 12 levels in a class without multiclassing, if you select recommended attributes at the start of the game, you get a mostly optimal character. And the race of the character changes very little except giving RP options to choose from during dialogue.
After finding one NPC, you can even change and respec your class (including your starting attributes) for 100 gold. So the option is always there to try something new or try some weird multiclass. One of the few games where you don't feel like you HAVE to pick the correct or optimal choice all the time.
You can just make a barbarian and not think much about anything else
@@cl86241 Agreed but I wish people would stop calling bg3 a turn based game 😂 I don't think those exist. While combat is a massive part of the game, it's not the whole game. You can probably even beat the game as a pacifist utilizing stealth and persuasion as much as possible.

I've also stolen my party members' underthings off of them. . .just to see what would happen. They were not impressed with me 😅
One of the hardest things I've had to do with baldur's gate 3 is "Unlearn" what I know about what video games do and do not let you do. If you do play this game, do so assuming that there are no limits, and you will be utterly surprised by what you can get away with.

One of my favourite memories of the game. Is the forge golem came out of no where and I was like waaaay under leveled. The lava stopped coming out and I didn't understand how to kill him so I had to work out how to escape the fight and survive to come back. Then I came back understanding the fight. He's already spawned so I had to set up. Jump down to the mold, put in the ore and move him into position as I'm fighting. I saved before and died 6 -7 times but beating him on hard mode was so rewarding. I nukes him down in 1 turn.

You can kill anyone in the game effectively ending every quest you can possibly get. There is an achievement for killing everyone in balders gate when you get there. BG3 is basically the most true to the table top dnd experience I've played. You can murder hobo your way through the whole game.

All but one non quest giving tiefling survived.... After the fight was done, we just sat in silence observing the carnage throughout the camp.
10/10 game
Asmon reacting to Baldur's Gate is like seeing a person trying D&D for the first time
Why yes, you *can* do pretty much anything
The problem with not going back to previous save, is you potentially missing some story because the game requires a 20 roll, and you are unlucky. Unless you plan to play this game 20 times to explore the story and dialogue between characters, it's better to just reload and get that roll you need. And probably it is necessary to change the way the dice rolls to make to completely random.
skill checks can be really bad you never know what the failed check left you out of unless you look it up, at best it might be a short quest and some loot or it could lock you out of the good ending 30 hours later
@@simonkapadia7582 just get a bard face and youre gtg tbh
I feel like the game is replayable enough that I'm totally fine with just playing again, maybe with a class that would've made those rolls a little more easily
0:50 There's almost no plot armor in BG3. In my first run Lae'zel died on the Nautiloid fighting Zhalk, then I just left her (looted) corpse on the beach and went on my way.
When you play Baldo?!
Baldurs gate 3 demonstrates exceptionaly well why freedom is the Most important thing in life.
