The thing I love about Skillet is that the songs may have been written with a religious meaning behind them, but for anybody that isn't Christian the song can mean something to them too. To me, this song is talking about my family and friends that empower me and inspire me everyday.

Actually skillet is well known in the heavy metal world. They are a bit more mainstream compared to other great bands. If you have listened to their older albums, from the early 2000's, they were extremely good. I believe they formed in the 90's, and this is my firat time listening to their newer songs. Ive stuck with their older albums since i was 10. First heard of their song Monster, when i was around 5, and im 17 now. Another band that is good but has a lot of haters and gets dismissed a lot is Nickelback. There is also Shinedown, Stone Sour, Staind, and a couple of other great bands that i listen to every day. More modern and heavier, or what most people call Screamo, is Asking Alexandria. Older bands that fall under this subgenre of metal is Beartooth, Parkway Drive, North Lane, and a few other good ones. All great bands in my opinion and definetly recommend. Back to Skillet, from the sound of this song, they have added to their style, tweaking it from their old, bass, drums, keyboard, various other stringed instruments and added sounds from more modern music. Great sound, it works but i still like their older music, but thats just because i grew up listening to them with their older style.

This song played at my town's fitness place and I was singing the whole thing while on a tredmill. I just got back when I'm commenting this.
I was listening to this song in my Math Class and my headphones somehow got disconnected and this song ended up blasting through out the classroom and everyone looked at me... I just started singing the lyrics while reconnecting my headphones 😂

@@IsisBehrendtcolorcodedvip In my opinion, I think this is quite soft compared to other metal bands, probably since Skillet is a Christian band, and their music isn't half bad either. And personally, I think what matters is the lyrics I guess, though sometimes we might have to pay attention to the music itself too
As a writer, Skillet is my go to band for inspiring music to listen to when writing a battle scene. The hard rock and lyrics just makes me want my characters to fight, lol.
