      OMG!!! Amazing!!! I remember the first time I wore my wig out in a convertible... I WAS SO SCARED it was just going to fly off!!!! We went down the highway too, and I feel like my eyes were so huge just thinking how my wig was going to let go of my head and fly back and hit another car in the face 😁 But... It didn't LOL.

    I want to leave a tip that I just discovered. “It stays” loosens on me when I am hot. My bio hair is too slippery to keep on in a wig grip or a cap. So I ordered mini bobby pins from amazon. They totally keep my wig secure!

    Very helpful - I have not started wearing my wigs yet, but I'm losing a little more hair everyday. I live in the HOT Arizona desert 110 degrees plus. My first wig is a short pixie - very low density, synthetic, wefted . So your video makes me feel much better about the summer heat.

    Thanks for your tips Steph I live in Scotland and it is never too hot to wear a wig 😂🤣😂 as I’m watching the video it’s 6.35pm and I’m sitting in the house with my fleece on. Fingers crossed you get some warmer weather this summer, and maybe you'll get to experience that "wig heat" just a little bit. 😁Stay cozy in the meantime, and thank you for watching! 😂💖🌦

    My favorite summer wigs so far have been BelleTress Los Angeles and Santa Monica. I've been swimming, hiking, and traveling with them and they have been so cool and wonderful! I have been able to swim in both chlorinated pools and ocean water with no problems with them holding up. In fact, I did notice that they seemed to require less heat care than normal like you said. I do also wear a light density Madison Hair Collection lace top that is also very cool, but like you said, I don't like to wear my human hair wigs outside because the sun affects the color.

    I just want to say that you do a superb job reviewing and educating on wigs. As a cosmetologist, I first started back in the early 80s, working in the Houston MD Anderson cancer center area at a salon in one of the buildings. So, I started working on clients with wigs back then in my early career. Some of my clients who have now survived cancer are still wearing wigs. So, I get referrals for new wig wearers often. RUclips is really a huge platform for helping people and spreading information about so many subjects. You're one of the best when it comes to wigs. Thank you for that, and keep up the great work!

      Thank you so much for your wonderful message! It means a lot coming from a seasoned cosmetologist with such meaningful experience. It's inspiring to hear about your work with clients at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and how you've continued to support wig wearers over the years. I completely agree that RUclips is a fantastic platform for sharing knowledge and helping others. Your kind words truly motivate me to keep doing what I love. Thank you for your support, and keep up the amazing work you're doing as well! 😊💖

    I keep my bio hair short, it’s going to be even shorter very soon I have ordered a hair trimmer of my own to keep it short as I want. I wash my hair daily and gently towel dry it and then pop my wig on top. My head stays cooler for longer. Some days I give my hair a quick blast with the hairdryer. I use wig grip bands with most wigs, some have clips, two at the front and one at the back. My current preference though is the Milano Top Band so there’s less bulk. I was wearing large wigs but have found average actually fit me better. I’ve always thought I had a big head but I don’t 😂

    This is my first summer wearing wigs. Some days have gotten up towards 30 degrees celcius already, and honestly I'm doing fine. I mean when it's so hot I'd be sweating hald to death weaing literally nothing, I'm obviously gonna be sweating in my wig too, but that's not the fault of the wig. I only wear human hair wigs because I get really badly itchy from the synthetic ones. But I also find they're more breathable in the heat.
    I actually prefer long wigs because they help protect my neck from sun burn and overheating. Especially if there's some wind that gets caught in the hair, that helps cooling me down much more effectively than a short wig can. I have one long wig and one short, and the long one is so much cooler in the heat! Because the short one doesn't move in the wind. It just sits there like helmet.
    Also it helps that I keep my bio hair super short. It helps keeping the wig in place without a wig cap or grip as the stubble acts like velcro, and it's one less layer on my head. When it gets really excrutiatingly hot, I actually use an umbrella for shade.
    Also keep your legs cool! We actually transfer a lot of our body heat through our legs. So shorts, mini skirts, etc with sandals is also a great way to try to circumvent the extra head heat from wig.

    I have lupus so I have very very thin hair. I have sew in extensions but have been wanting to try wigs forever but I am clueless with them. The thing that especially makes me wonder if wigs are for me is I have a very small forehead. Most of the people I see wearing wigs have bigger foreheads so they can play with the hairline and glue it down etc. I feel like if I can’t afford to lose any real estate on my forehead. Any advice?

      Hi! Yes, Ellen Wille wigs do run tighter than other brands. If you are a true average, I still do believe you would fit Esprit. It doesn't feel as tight on my head as some of the other Ellen Wille wigs feel. BUT, since you're looking for a cooler summer synthetic wig, I will do a video on my recommendations for that!!! Because I do have a few in mind that would really help with the heat. Esprit is great though =)

    How often do you wash your bio hair?

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  29 дней назад +1

      I wash my bio hair only when it needs it, which usually means about every 5 days. My hair is quite dry due to my Graves' disease, so it never gets greasy, even after five days. I add moisture regularly, and when I do wash it, it's mainly to apply a deep conditioner and give it a good refresh (obviously also shampooing as well). Everyone's hair is different, so it's all about finding what works best for you! 😊

    • @ED80s
      @ED80s 15 дней назад

      I had to buzzcut my bio hair due to a virus which resulted in me losing at least 70% of my hair. That was 3 months ago and my bio hair is growing back and honestly I sometimes forget to wash it because it's so short so I schedule washing my hair every Wednesday and Saturday so I don't forget to wash it.
