There are two reasons why Heatblast didn't appear in Alien Force and rarely appeared in Ultimate Alien
1. People liked Diamondhead more than Heatblast
2. Swapfire was meant to be replacement for Swapfire

Is that really the case? I kinda stopped watching after Alien Force ended and didn't revisit the series until earlier this year, but I remember in a poll featuring the original twelve aliens back during Ben 10 Classic asking fans who was their favorite, Heatblast, Cannonbolt, and XLR8 were the three who made it to the finals.
I figured it was because he was harder to animate with the motion of his head. I recall hearing several of the original aliens had that issue and got used sparingly or not at all during UAF.

Anyway, Swampfire has nowhere the same power as Heatblast. He’s just more versatile and can regen.

@@kakao539 durability wise: Heatblast is wayyyyyyy more durable, the only reason Sampfire survived as much he did is cuz of his regeneration. strength wise: they’re both pretty close leaving Swampfire only a bit stronger however Heatblast is way faster and agile if I had to pick an alien between the 2, it’s definitely Heatblast

​@@MOTIONSOLDIERRI don't know the exact stats, but Heatblast's magma-based body would be more durable than Swampfire's. I think the trade off is Heatblast's pyrokenesis is more versatile and he can go hotter, but while Swampfire can only shoot fireballs, he can also control plants and regenerate limbs.
At the very least, I hope that's the case. I don't really like the idea of an alien who renders another of Ben's transformations useless.
