    I recently got into Toy Photography and was taking photos on my old Samsung Fold, and I thought I could get some great shots out of it! I realised that lighting was definitely the most important factor. But I did eventually splurge a bit and bought a Canon R50 and I gotta say I can definitely see the improvement. But I feel that is mostly because I had already learned heaps so it didn't really matter what I was using. Anyway great video as always man!

      Yo that’s so cool! That’s the way to do it. How are you liking the Canon R50? I don’t have first hand experience with it, but from other photographers, I’ve heard it’s a great transition from phone. It’s one I recommend for people asking. And yeah, lighting is king! Thanks so much for the support🙏🏼

    Shows what you can do with today's mobile tech mate. Personally I wouldn't change my camera for my mobile but phones are a great way to get started in toy photography. Another great video mate. Liked your lighting set up, especially the blue wiry spotlight light 👍👍

      Thanks again, Paul! Yeah, I’m not giving up my camera either haha. Besides wanting to help others, I wanted to see if I could do it myself. So for sure a great way to get started in photography. The light is from Adaptalux! It’s really cool. I have a link posted in description to their site 🙌🏼

    Great job~I have to say, I didn’t expect that after all these years, although mobile phone photos are good enough, the grayscale of the camera is still better and provides a unique warm texture.

    okay so, I needed this video a few months ago lol. So, I have a canon 90D dslr camera, but I had to pawn it for a little bit and in the meantime, I have been using my old Straight talk android Samsung phone that sucks in low light and really has no pro settings. I can really tell the difference between my camera and my mobile phone, and I personally don't like the mobile although like in your demonstration it can be hard to tell between the two. You can pull off some decent photos with your mobile. Now that I know about lightroom for mobile (thanks to you and this video) I can use the lightroom app as my camera settings instead of my built-in settings. The lightroom app has all the pro camera settings. I just tried it out and the picture quality is so much better than my built-in camera settings. So, to anyone using a mobile phone to take pictures I would download the lightroom app and don't get discouraged find that camera angle and use a tripod for sure and you will be fine until you can get a dslr. Maybe you can do a video on how to use the lightroom app camera settings Matt, just a thought. Thanks again for this video I look forward to the rest of the series. Oh, a couple mobile phone tips I've learned. Use a tripod for sure your hands are shaking even if you think there not the smallest movement will give you a blurry photo. also wipe your camera lens off before you take the shot fingerprints suck lol plus it removes any haze that might be on the lens; it makes for a cloudy photo. And most of all have fun. Thanks again Matt you rock brother.

      Dude, what an epic comment. Sorry to hear about getting rid of camera but great comeback to not give up! Good tips too! I had those written down for the upcoming video 😂 and for the third, I was primarily going to be editing in the Lightroom app on phone and use that as the foundation. Might show a couple other apps as well. Thanks again, Brian! Really appreciate all your support🙏🏼

    Hey Matt. Long time no talk. 1. Hope you're doing well. 2. As a person who uses his Samsung as his primary camera for toy photography, I'm happy to see how well the photos came out detail wise. I'll have to check out your IG to see if you put the settings for your photos. I haven't had much time with the Canon 70D that is in the house and my comfort level has always been low in it's use, especially if I put it into manual.
    NOW what I didn't realize till this video is using the lightroom app and actually taking the picture with that. Samsung's pro mode has been my goto, but now I'll have to dabble with that with my next pics!
    Finally, are you still doing fan provided photos and seeing how you'd edit them?
    Again, thank you for being consistent with your videos. Have a fantastic week and weekend!

    • @amusingking
      @amusingking  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hey, Michael! Doing great! You definitely need to experiment with the 70D haha.
      I'm not familiar with the Samsung pro mode. It might have more adjustable settings than the standard iPhone camera app? Let me know.
      I do want to edit others' photos. Did you ever send a pic? The email I provided in that video didn't work :( I made a post about it but not sure it went through. I need to mention it in another video. If you have a photo or two you want me to edit, you can send them to the email you used before.

    I enjoy using a phone for toy photography....by the time i set up my camera and taken 1 photo and pose. I would have tried 10-20 different angles with my phone.....its good enough for me....i guess i am too impatient. I think whatever works for the person to their creativity out is what is the best!

      @amusingking  9 месяцев назад +1
