Wow just wow, what dedication and great work! It came out stunningly. I really love the Byzantine link and love that chain, sturdy as hell and I really like the ends you used. Great video to! Do you sell any of your products or have a store/website???
I remember using 1.2mn wire the rod I’m not sure now sorry about that I’m guessing around 4mm as I always say make a sample till you get it right I’m trying to be more informative now in my videos thank you for watching
storm I would say no because there are links facing towards the draw plate you would have to use round mills please do a few inch Sample that would help you
Materful. A great inspiration. I'm an accomplished studio engineer and a jewelry head. About to take some silversmithing courses and see if I have the aptitude or not. This is a really awesome video. Thanks man.
MadeByHuss If you don’t mind sharing, what make is that roller machine? I’ve been making byzantine for years, but you’re a step, if not dozen, ahead of me. Need to get myself one of those.
That chains is so nice, I have been making my own chains just using copper wire to practice... What kind of rolling mill is that you are using? would like to purchase one myself. Thanks
Hey! I really enjoyed your video. I found it because I became interested in this art of making chains by hand lately. But I have a question about all those liquids in which you dropped your chain during the process of making and finishing it. What exactly are those liquids and what do they do? I'm always seeing that the chains get dipped in there but I never understood why they do it. Would love to get this little mystery cleared for me and keep up the great work! Greetings from Germany!
After soldering its put in sulphuric acid mixed with water this helps to clean the metal second is the finishing after polishing its put in very hot water mixed with pneumonia cleaning solution takes off all the polish and makes it sparkle
@@MadeByHuss Thank you for this quick answer even though I asked under a pretty old video! Now I understand what exactly you were doing and why you did this. Also I think that this will help me if I want to do a chain myself. Thanks a lot!
Now I feel completely ashamed of my pathetic Byzantine copper bracelets that I make on my coffee table. I'm going off into a corner to weep...... (Even so, I absolutely love your videos).
maidofkent maidofkent no not at all some times I use copper just to test out size and movement; and you know how to put likes together that’s a good start best of luck
I commented on the fine craftsmanship crappy clasp --hoss said i works--you spend this kind of 'fn' hard earned cash you want it to hold i/e somebody tries to snatched it they take you with it---i have that same style little heavier--jewelers like this clasp eazie break buy another--jewelry makers could be out of their skill level
GEORGE SCOTT no it’s not for sale I only made for the video if I was to sale it any clasp can be replaced I can put one as big and as heavy as you like I did change that lock for my self and it’s fine now
I like very much your videos, but this time I think u are missing the explanation 😢 and it's very important due the complexity of the chain shape. Hope u can make another tutorial. Thanks. Greetings from Mexico ❤
